11th Beijing International Film Festival to Be Held on September 21-29
The 11th Beijing International Film Festival is scheduled to be held on September 21-29, 2021 and we have made full preparations now. Multiple exciting events and classic films are waiting to be enjoyed with all the filmmakers all over the world. 
 
Unique Opening and Closing Ceremonies 
Along with the Tiantan Award to Build the Consensus of Filmmakers Worldwide
 
For the sake of the pandemic prevention and control, the foreign guests participating in the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing International Film Festival this year will have interaction by innovative tech means online. The red carpet guests will take the Huairou-Miyun Line of Beijing Suburban Railway to get to the Yanqi Lake venue in Huairou. The "train bound for the film town" shuttles between the natural beauty of the outskirts of Beijing and the urban charms, adding more colors to this film festival. Ten honors of the "Tiantan Award" will be revealed at the closing ceremony of this year’s BJIFF, which will surely become the focus of global filmmakers.

At the Cinema or in Your Living Room
Enjoying a Vast Array of Chinese and Foreign Masterpieces

For the 11th BJIFF, approximately 1,000 showings of nearly 300 Chinese and foreign films will be available in 31 theaters in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, allowing the audience to enjoy the gluttonous feast of films.
 
This year, the “Online BJIFF” in exclusive collaboration with iQIYI is fully upgraded. From September 15 to October 8, fans can enjoy excellent films focusing on the Centenary of the CPC, Winter Olympics Images, Universal Classics and other themes in the Online BJIFF section on iQIYI, appreciating various genres of new high-quality films from around the world.
 
Beijing Radio & Television Station will also open up TV channels for the 11th BJIFF film screening, offering more choices to fans and allowing "Living Room Theaters" to be available in huge numbers of families.

With an Eye on Cutting-edge and Focus Issues
Resonance with Industry, University and Research

The 11th BJIFF features multiple summits on cutting-edge and focus issues such as the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the development of arthouse films, the development of young filmmakers, the creation of animated films and the development and construction of the film town. Multiple summits will be held to collide ideas, exchange views and share the opportunities and gains achieved through the film festival. 
 
Five Workshop & Masterclass activities will also allow film masters to pass on their wisdom to more film practitioners, sharing their experiences and ideas of film creation, and enable the Chinese “Film Star of Tomorrow“ to stand on a higher shoulder to look into the future. 
 
Meanwhile, as a new addition to the BJIFF, the “BJIFF Release” event will release an array of research findings and industry reports that attract much attention, such as film investment, financing and marketing, so as to play the role of the BJIFF in reflecting the very latest in the film industry.

Under the premise of strictly implementing the requirements for responding to COVID-19, a number of off-line activities have been curated for this year’s Film Carnival, including the immersive experience of the Flower Sea of the Film Town, film and TV animation modeling exhibition, film and TV-themed light show, parent-child theme interactive experience, and film and TV related theatrical performance, to enable the citizens and tourists the brand-new entertainment experience in lights and shadows.
