Mr. Wang addressed the salon. He expressed warm welcome to the filmmakers present from around the world, saying that the success of the BJIFF would not have been possible without the strong support from domestic and overseas film institutions and filmmakers. He cited an ancient saying "Appreciate remarkable pieces of writing together to discover the implication of them", expressing the positive attitude of Chinese films to integrate into world culture. At last, he sent an invitation to the world filmdom, hoped to establish deep friendship and longstanding extensive cooperation with all global organizations and institutions loving film art, and wished Chinese films and world films a better future.
The year 2019 coincides with the 15th anniversary of the establishment of Sino-Italian all-round strategic partnership. During visiting Italy this March, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that friendship, which derives from close contact between the people, holds the key to sound state-to-state relations. The influence of culture and civilization going beyond national boundaries and transcending time and space has laid an unbreakable foundation for the deep friendship between China and Italy.

Roberto Stabile, Head of the International Affairs Department of the National Association of Cinematographic, Audiovisual and Multimedia Industries (ANICA), Italy delivered a speed. Following the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Italy, all the countries along the Silk Road have started to preferentially develop audio-visual cooperation, said he. The Silk Road starting in China and ending in Italy is a solid road for both sides. A business road can be an important opportunity for cultural identification and exchanges. He hoped to maintain long-term cooperation with Chinese audio-visual film institutions and create exchange opportunities for Italian and Chinese operators.

Then young director Gu Xiaogang and producer Liang Ying promoted Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains. The screenplay was completed in one year. The story focuses on a family along the Fuchun River. The mother falls ill at her birthday party. According to the doctor, she suffers from Alzheimer's disease. The family relationships among her four sons are broken down due to the issue of taking care of her. It took two years to shoot the film. The community life is unfolded slowly like a scroll with the changes of the four seasons. Director Gu Xiaogang attempted to integrate the aesthetics of Chinese landscape paintings into the film, to create a mature film language. Besides, the film was recognized by renowned Chinese musician Dou Wei who created music for the film.

The Salon for Chairmen of International Film Festivals and Representatives of the Film Industry has built an outstanding international exchange platform for international film leaders, and created a good opportunity for global deep-level and crossover film cooperation. The success of the salon has promoted international culture communication, displayed the current situation and cultural focuses of Chinese films, and further advanced the “going-global” of Chinese films on the basis of “bringing-in” international guests.
