At the industrial representative dialogue, seven leading figures in China's film industry were invited to discuss the current situation of the film industry. A feature of CFGC's film creation this year is pooling the strength of the whole country and industrial resources for creation due to the Covid-19 outbreak, which is also the feature of creation in the whole film industry this year, said Fu Ruoqing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Chairman of CFGC. Gong Yu, Founder and CEO of iQIYI, thought that the impact of the Internet on the film industry is first reflected in the facilitation of film viewing thanks to sci-tech innovation, and the development of blockchain and 5G will even lead to a change in the business model of the industry. Jiang Defu, Chief Executive Officer of Bona Film Group, expressed his special appreciation for the favorable environment and conditions for film creation endowed by the era, which have helped Bona set a precedent for the commercialization of theme films--what they have explored in recent years. In its transition from a large cultural country to a cultural power, China needs to further improve the capability of integrated innovation in content creation and keep exploring the diversification of genres, said Li Weiqiang, Chairman of Poly Pictures Investment Co., Ltd., adding that Poly would create and develop more commercial theme film & television works according with the features of the era. Wang Changtian, Chairman of Enlight Media, noted that the core of the film industry is the film, and there will be no other links without film creation, therefore the mission of a film company is producing good films. In the future, Enlight Media will focus on exploring new film genres and themes, extending boundaries of film contents, vigorously developing and exploring the creation of animated films. Huayi is more concerned about the part behind contents--content creators, and thus pays more attention to director cultivation and exploration, said James Wang, Co-founder, Vice Chairman and CEO of Huayi Brothers Media Corp. Zeng Maojun, President of Wanda Cultural Industry Group & Wanda Media Group, noted that films are mainly driven by contents and technologies. Wanda trying to find a balance will consider a balance between the upstream sectors and downstream sectors of the industry chain.

Facing the future development of the film industry, Chinese filmmakers are keeping to a right path and making innovations with sober cultural consciousness and firm cultural confidence. The filmmakers spoke eloquently on film creation. As the film is a narrative art and an imaginative art, we should not settle for the authenticity of contents, but also make imaginations and expectations authentic, said Huang Jianxin, Director of 1921 and a renowned executive producer. Chinese mainstream films need to accord with China's mainstream value, and show the basic mentality and yearning of the nation. Now a lot of relatively modern and innovative expressions need to find a balance in localization and fragmented narrations need to discover the literary significance of films, which is low-middle budget films need to consider, said Xue Xiaolu, a renowned director. It is most important for actors to return to the most real and natural life to experience more details, said Tang Wei, a renowned actress, based on her experiences. Directors should be innovative in audio-visual sense and characterization, and filmmakers including directors should have their own characters and views, said Yang Feng, Director of Railway Heroes.
