“With spring in the air, it’s time to travel around Huairou.” In the picturesque season, Huairou District welcomes the Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) and general public as always. A cultural chapter featuring the Great Wall and Yanqi Lake in celebration of films is in full swing. As a major section of the BJIFF with the theme of “Film Feast in Picturesque Huairou”, the Film Carnival is to be held from April 22 to May 3 this year, during which more than 40 activities and approximately 100 experiential events are to be organized in 18 venues across the district. A new recreation trend of “Fun Childhood in Scenic Outdoors” is being set will all-out efforts.

Welcome to Huairou to discover amazing films and enjoy quality family time. At the Zone B, Flower Sea of the Film Town, a cultural tourism themed space that combines the Full River Red set and Chinese fashion market is built, offering a variety of business forms covering thematic cultural creativity, featured performances, food and entertainment. Wandering in the bright-colored film set, you’ll find yourself immersed in Chinese culture and running into crowds in costume as if you were shopping in a market in the Song dynasty. At the Zone C, Flower Sea of the Film Town, a diversified market that integrates camping, food, music, cultural creativity and science and technology is organized. Besides, dozens of family games, such as pitch-pot, Chuiwan (similar to modern golf) and archery, will be offered. Tourists may enjoy profound culture, delicacies inspired by films and TV series, and family fun in the market. Meanwhile, other BJIFF sections, such as the Game-Based Animated Films Section and ReelFocus Program, are integrated into the Film Carnival. Themes including E-sports, Red Carpet and forums will further enrich the cultural product supply of the Film Carnival.

Visit Huairou to have fun childhood and art nurturing. The Deer World Theme Park is fully upgraded with more interesting and unique family fun zones, such as the dinosaur land and magic world. Moreover, the theme park fits film art into its touring routes. Changes of scene at every step and virtual reality offer visitors fantastic immersion via film interaction devices. At the Banying Liangtian Leisure Area, thematic activities, such as cultural creative market, will be hosted. The brand new light and shadow show, and mysterious Hobbit House will be presented for the first time.
