Film has never been a one-way expression. It is watched, discussed, questioned, and remembered. Audience voices are never just an echo, they help steer the path of creation.
At the upcoming 16th BJIFF Creation Forum, we will begin a real dialogue between creators and audiences.
Four audience representatives and four filmmakers will take the stage for a direct exchange around the "Ten Sharp Questions".
This time, the spotlight is not reserved only for creators. The audience will have the mic too.
You can raise the questions that have long been on your mind, or share the thoughts you never had the chance to speak in the cinema.
I. Activity One: Open Call for the "Ten Sharp Questions"
If a scene ever made your heart race in the dark, or an ending left you frustrated, put your question into words.
About the kind of films audiences want to see
About whether audiences are respected, or simply factored in
About plot direction and character design
About film marketing and real audience reception
About traffic, IP, and emotional value
……
This time, the questions will be heard.
We will choose ten meaningful questions from the submissions that best capture key concerns, and bring them to the center of the Creation Forum.
How to Participate: Leave your question in the comment section of the BJIFF official WeChat account, official Weibo (@Beijing International Film Festival), or Xiaohongshu (@Beijing International Film Festival).
Timeline
(1) Question Submission: From the date of this announcement until March 20, 2026.
(2) Question Selection: March 20 to 31, 2026.
(3) Results Announcement: The final "Ten Sharp Questions" will be announced in mid-April 2026.
Selection Criteria: Questions will be evaluated based on quality, relevance to the theme, practical value for film creation, submission order, as well as topic engagement and public value.
Special Surprise: Contributors of the selected "Ten Sharp Questions" will receive special souvenirs from the 16th BJIFF.
II. Activity Two: Recruitment of Audience Representatives for the Creation Forum

(1) Questionnaire Registration: From the date of this announcement to March 20, 2026. Shortlisted applicants will be notified by phone or text message. Others will not receive further notice.
(2) Online Interviews: March 20 to 31, 2026.
(3) Results Announcement: The final audience representatives will be announced in mid-April 2026.
(4) Selection Criteria: Candidates will be evaluated based on questionnaire information and interview performance.
