Call for Submissions: The 16th BJIFF's Art & Vision Certain Unit - "Visionary New Order" Commercial Art Short Film Section Now Open

Published Time:2026-03-04
In an era of extreme content saturation, tens of thousands of images flood our vision daily, competing for attention. In this fierce competition, consumers are increasingly desensitized to hollow brand narratives, making such content unsustainable. Meanwhile, artistic content often lacks channels to reach the masses, limiting its cultural influence. Commercial art short films, however, offer a compelling alternative: they blend commercial objectives with profound artistic expression, addressing market demands while resonating with contemporary societal themes.
The Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF), in partnership with Wonderland. Chinese Edition and ARTnews Chinese Edition, introduces the "Art & Vision Certain Unit". Since its inception, this dedicated platform for commercial art short film creation has upheld the core philosophy of "Art, Fashion, Commerce, Innovation", fostering a new ecosystem and cultural wave for artistic commercial short film creation. Through film screenings and cross-cultural exchange events, it offers a rich viewing experience and in-depth industry discussions, allowing domestic and international audiences, as well as professionals from the art and fashion worlds, to deeply appreciate the unique charm of commercial art film shorts.
The 16th BJIFF's Art & Vision Certain Unit

In 2026, the Art & Vision Certain Unit will open a new chapter for commercial art short films under the theme "Visionary New Order". "Visionary" signifies not only the generation of ideas but also the renewal of concepts and breakthroughs in expressive structures. "New Order" represents not only innovation in form but also the reconstruction of value systems and industry standards.
This year's Art & Vision Certain Unit, centered on the core driving forces of commercial art shorts, seeks works that achieve innovative breakthroughs in brand world-building, cultural expression, visual aesthetics, and AI/cross-media exploration across four key dimensions: Narrative, Culture, Vision, and Future. Together, we aim to reshape the expressive order and industry standards of commercial art short films.
