Draw Dream into Image with Paintbrush: The 13th BJIFF Poster Collection Kicks Off!
What is film poster in your eyes?
It is the first gate to attract you and a curtain for you to intuitively understand film information, or it’s our first impression of a film.
Poster was originally a kind of advertisement to arouse public interest in the simplest and the most direct way. In the ill-informed era, audiences had to preliminarily understand the content, the creators and the release information of films through posters. Since the birth of films, it has quietly become a part of the films and can be seen everywhere.
From traditional hand-painting to image synthesis, from the codes of important information to the promotion of the star halo, from the posters with specific commercial features for screening promotion to the artistic designs as classics treasured by fans.

Poster of Gone with the Wind
In the journey of poster development is hidden the history of the relationship between films and audiences. The researches on film posters have just got started, but it has accompanied us all the way till today once the factory gate opened and the train pulled in.

Poster of Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat
Film is essentially a kind of comprehensive form of art, and the poster is even a comprehensive display to not only highlight the fundamental belief of a film festival but also present the artistic taste of the festival.
It also serves a bridge for the audiences and the practitioners and warmly invites them to attend the film festival.
The BJIFF will usher into the 13th anniversary and we will get together once again in the spring.
For the coming session of BJIFF, the Organizing Committee has officially launched the poster collection for the 13th BJIFF to call for the works with unique creativity and artistic standards all over the world, and individuals or professional design institutions are also encouraged for participation.
The posters featured with "international level, Chinese characteristics, Beijing style" are welcome to the BJIFF this year. The concepts and themes can be freely determined by the designers themselves.
Your poster should fully reflect your sincerity and enthusiasm for the film:
Your poster should adopt completely original design without infringement or plagiarism. The BJIFF Organizing Committee will deprive the author of the award qualification in the case of any plagiarism.
Designers should fully express their own artistic passion in their works so as to reflect the professional and international orientation of the BJIFF.
The design should include the content of artistic rhetoric and highlight the cultural atmosphere of films without any ambiguity. Meanwhile, it should also display the characteristics and logo of the BJIFF, convey the initiative and positive energy and highlight the unique regional features and culture of the city of Beijing.
