  SHU Qi was born in 1976(April,16th) in Taiwan,China.
  In 1996, SHU Qi starred in Viva Erotica which garnered seven nominations at the 16th Hong Kong Film Awards and nominated for the Golden Bear at the 47th Berlin International Film Festival. For her performance in this film, SHU Qi won the Best Supporting Actress and Best New Artist at the 16th Hong Kong Film Awards. In 1998, she won the Best Supporting Actress award at the 35th Golden Horse Awards and the 18th Hong Kong Film Awards for her performance in Portland Street Blues. In 2005, for her performance in Three Times, she won the Best Actress award at the 42nd Golden Horse Awards. In 2008, she was invited to be the jury member of the 58th Berlin International Film Festival. In 2009, she was appointed as the jury member of the 62nd Cannes Film Festival and also won the title of Excellent Overseas Chinese Actress at the 13th Ornamental Column Awards for her performance in If You Are the One. She starred in Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons in 2013. In 2015, She starred in The Assassin, nominated for the Competition Section at the 68th Cannes Film Festival, and she won the Best Actress award at the 10th Asian Film Awards. In 2015, she starred in Mojin: The Lost Legend, which earned a box office revenue exceeding CNY 1 billion in eight days from the release.
