"Under the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the China Children’s Film Association (CCFA) is a grade AAA non-profit organization approved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, PRC. Founded in 1984, the CCFA’s members range over filmmakers, screenwriters, producers, distributors, critics, heads of film institutes, education experts, and social workers. Its current chairperson and honorary chairperson are Mr. HUANG Jun and Mr. HOU Keming PhD, respectively. CCFA specializes in film promotion, film education, public service, theoretical study, and academic exchange. Besides, it undertakes the China International Children’s Film Festival (CICFF) and the office work of the China National Coordination Committee of Primary and Secondary Education in Film and Television (the Coordination Committee). CCFA has undertaken 15 editions of CICFF since 1989. Nearly 500 impressive children’s films from over 50 countries and regions met millions of Chinese child audiences during the festivals. CCFA also organizes Chinese children’s film screenings overseas and runs booths at the European Film Market (EFM) of Berlin International Film Festival and the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART), which greatly extends the international influence of Chinese children’s films. In addition, the Coordination Committee has recommended a total of 485 quality children’s films in 39 series to nationwide primary and middle school students since 1997. In the past thirty-five years, CCFA’s scale and influence has been gradually expanded, and CCFA has established its leading position in the field of children’s film promotion and research in China."
