Beijing Film Association (the "Association" for short) is a professional non-profit social organization voluntarily formed by enterprises, public institutions and practitioners in Beijing's film industry. The Association is registered with Beijing Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau and under the superintendence of the Publicity Department of Beijing Municipal Party Committee. It is the successor of Beijing Film Distribution and Exhibition Association, which was established in 1992 and officially renamed Beijing Film Association on December 13, 2011. The Association boasts 602 members, including 249 institutional members engaged in film production, distribution and exhibition, and 353 individual members engaged in the film industry. It also has 12 branches and administers Beijing Film Exhibition Alliance affiliated to China Film Distribution and Exhibition Association. The tenet of the Association is to abide by national policies and regulations, promote social morality, give full play to the role of a bridge between the government and the industry, actively serve the members, the industry, the government and the society, and boost the sustainable prosperity and development of Beijing's film industry.
