Game-Based Animated Films Section—E-sports Carnival Makes Debut!
The 12th BJIFF—Game-Based Animated Films Section, guided by the 12th BJIFF Organizing Committee Office and the Publicity Department of Beijing Huairou District Committee of the Communist Party of China, hosted by the Beijing Huairou District Cultural Industry Development Promotion Center and Zhongxuan Cultural Media (Beijing) Co., Ltd., and organized by Poly Digi-Entertainment, is about to be taking place in the Flower Sea of the Film Town, Huairou tomorrow.

To further spread the knowledge of e-sports and foster positive e-sports concepts, this year’s Game-based Animated Film Section adds diversified contents and forms of expression. By integrating with the Film Carnival section of the BJIFF for the first time, it adds an interactive sector to the existing portfolio, E-sports Carnival. The three-day “E-Sports for All” activities to be held from August 16 to 18 will make the public really experience the spirit of fair and open e-sports and pass on the positive energy of e-sports talents.
E-sports Carnival debuts to bring a joyful and enjoyable experience
With the E-sports Carnival, which will make a debut at the Film carnival section and is part and parcel of the Game-based Animated Film Section at the 12th BJIFF, we hope that this event enables people to engage in e-sports with a healthy, positive, and upward attitude, enjoy the pleasure brought by e-sports, and at the same time experience the pan-entertainment achievements through the integration of e-sports, film, and animation. Under the premise of strict implementation of the Covid-19 response policy, we will greatly improve the participation and sense of fulfillment of the public through wonderful on-site activities, and enrich the spiritual and cultural life of citizens.
We have set up an outdoor arcade hall equipped with a large number of claw machines, basketball arcade machines, arcade cabinets, VR flying machines, and other game & entertainment amenities, and even launched two competitions open to the public, the “Arcade Dabbler Competition” and the “Game for Peace Gabbler Competition”, which can be participated in through on-site registration. In the “Arcade Dabbler Competition”, many items such as the KOF ’97, Street Fighter II, and Mario Kart 8 can directly take you on a time machine to regain your memories of growing up and experience the joy and challenges brought by e-sports. The “Game for Peace Gabbler Competition” will be held on August 18 from 1:00PM to 6:00PM, and the winning team will also win a surprise reward.
The Flower Seas of the Film Town has various amazing activities lined up for this BJIFF
Alongside the E-sports Carnival, at the Flower Sea of the Film Town, the venue of the event, there will also be the national standard dance party, the Run for Fun, and other characteristic IP performances. Visitors can not only experience the bustling of the “night fair dotted with numerous lights shining clouds in the sky”, but also can hang around the cultural bazaar and appreciate the vast stretches of the flower sea.
As the Film Carnival section of the BJIFF is held, the Flow Sea of the Film Town actively creates the “Slow Downshift & Micro-tourism” project, providing different styles of camps for visitors to meet diversified needs. We can see that visitors “stroll in the day and admire the stars at night” here, providing them with a piece of pure land to temporarily escape their noisy and busy life and adding quietness to their life.
Films stay with exciting activities. On August 16, the e-sports culture feast will kick off. Let’s meet at the Flower Sea and see you then!
