　　▍Film Week is included in the BJIFF for the first time, works selected hit a record high

　　The year 2022 marks the successful hosting of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing, which has become the first “Dual-Olympic City” in history. In order to expand the influence of sports culture and promote the construction of spiritual civilization in the “Dual-Olympic City”, the BISFW was officially included in the 12th BJIFF this year to achieve a win-win cooperation. With this regard, the works registered for this year’s BISFW hit a record high with a total of 218 sport-themed films of various types collected. 

　　▍Splendid events promote Chinese sports films to the world 

　　This year's BISFW also includes a number of splendid events such as: sports film collection, sports film panorama, forum salon, sports film week exhibition, sports film+. The “BISFW · Sports Film Project Support Fund”, which is established for the first time, has attracted wide attention from all walks of life. The splendid events have brought great vitality to the BISFW this year. 

　　In the melody of Snowflake by Beijing Olympic Games Community Choir, the "Release of Excellent Works for the 18th Beijing International Sports Film Week & Launch Ceremony of Joint Exhibitions for Public Welfare” kicked off. 

　　Jiang Xiaoyu, Vice President of Beijing Olympic City Development Association, delivered a speech. He said that the BISFW had been successfully held for 17 sessions since its establishment in 2005 when Beijing was preparing for the Olympic Games. Now, it has gradually become one of the important bridges to promote Chinese sports film and television culture to the world. The 18th BISFW is expected to expand the influence of sports culture, pass on the "Heritage of Dual Olympics" through sports film works and tell more Chinese sports stories to the world. 

　　

　　The BISFW has officially become one of the important sub-stations of the Sport Movies & TV-Milano International FICTS FEST-World Championship Final in the past 14 years and more than 100 excellent Chinese sports films have been delivered. To make the global filmmakers better experience the charm of Chinese sports films, the BISFW has made important contributions to promote the exchanges of world sports culture. 

　　In the year of dual Olympics, Franco Ascani, President of Sport Movies & TV-Milano International FICTS FEST, also delivered his speech through online video. He said that the 18th Beijing International Sports Film Week fully demonstrated the cohesion of sports, and he hoped that the Beijing Olympic City Development Association and the Fédération Internationale du Cinéma et de la Télévision Sportifs (FICTS) could make joint efforts for the future of the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympic Games. He also wished the friendship forever and we could create new milestones! The films shortlisted in Student Works Section include Dragonboat Drifting, Go Skating, Charm of Dance, Cricket in Summer; Most Popular Film: The Wonder of Dance; The Disabled Section: Different; Short Video Section: A Date with Snow and Ice, Green Division, Cheer Up; Television and New Media Section: "Peace, Friendship, Love" Concert, Winter Olympics (Ice and Snow Sportswear), You Are Such An Internet Celebrity | A Person Grows on Bicycle (Zhang Jingkun); Sports and Society Section: Ice Hockey in the Greater Bay Area, Light on Yoga; Documentary Section: Climbing Mount Qomolangma II, Parhatti Erken Extreme Sports Photographer; Feature Film Section: Breaking Through; Olympic Games and Olympic Spirit Section: CGTN Winter Olympics Theme Song Relay Documentary, The Wonder of Dance.

　　Fan Kexin, an athlete of Chinese women's short track speed skating team, the champion of 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics short track speed skating men's and women's 2000-meter mixed relay, as well as multiple leaders were invited to attend the 18th BISFW Joint Exhibitions for Public Welfare. Talking about her story with Chinese films, Fan Kexin said that she usually had very limited time to watch films. However, she would pay attention to the films so long as they were related to sports. She hoped that sports films "can make more audiences understand and love sports through the light and shadow".
