Li Peiran holds a Master’s degree in Film Studies from the Beijing Film Academy and is a director and screenwriter. His creative work spans both film and theater, with a focus on blending genre storytelling with personal and poetic expression, particularly in crafting delicate and emotionally rich narratives. His major works include the films Silent Summer and Success and Beauty, as well as the play Courtyard Chronicles. Silent Summer was selected by Main Competition of the 7th FIRST International Film Festival. It was also selected for the 3rd Vancouver Chinese Film Festival in Canada, the Festival Premiers Plans d'Angers' "China" Section, the 7th FIRST Film Festival's "New Director" Section and the 6th YGIFF's "Annual Directorial Debut" Section. Seasons of Life received support from the Beijing Culture and Arts Fund and was recognized as the Best Production at the the Closing Ceremony of the 2023 National Chinese Theatre Festival.

About Tiantan Award


  Tiantan Award is the official competition section of BJIFF. It aims to discover and present recent outstanding films from across the globe and encourage diversity in the film industry. Tiantan Award each year comprises a maximum of 17 full-length feature films. During the festival, a seven-member jury committee will watch the shortlisted films and select the films and filmmakers to be awarded in ten categories.
  Tiantan Award includes 10 award categories: Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Artistic Contribution, Best Leading Actor, Best Leading Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, and Best Music.
  The 15th Beijing International Film Festival will be held in Beijing, China from April 18th to 26th, 2025.
  Tiantan Award 2025 continues to invite outstanding films around the globe to participate in the competition section. After a series of selection processes, 15 films stood out as the candidates of the awards. Tiantan Award International Jury Committee consists of 7 prestigious and leading figures in global film industry. They will select the winners of 10 awards based on the depth of thinking, artistry, and public appeal. The winners will be announced at the Closing & Awards Ceremony of the 15th BJIFF.
