Summit Forum: Schedule of Theme Forum Officially Released!
Forge Ahead with Insight for Future. The 12th BJIFF Theme Forum will be held from August 14 to 18.
  Trailer of the 12th BJIFF Theme Forum 
2022 marks the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Chinese Films and the year of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Based on the achievements in the "extraordinary decade”, Chinese film industry will usher into a new historical stage. Behind the number changes of the screenings, box office, audiences and film output, what changes have taken place among the Chinese audience; how to enable more films with both commercial values and artistic values...
For this purpose, the BJIFF will specially organize 3 film power forums and 5 themed forums, and invite industrial professionals and young talents to focus on the issues such as film power, education on visual art, “peak” films, young filmmaker expression, improvement of film watching experience, innovation and improvement of film criticism. The event aims to expand the concept, elaborate the viewpoints and put forward the insights so as to come up with the ideas of higher quality.

  Film Power Forum—A New Journey Ahead: Unremitting Pursuit of Dreams on a Journey toward a Brilliant Film Future

As the opening forum of the BJIFF, the heads of major film companies, well-known filmmakers, experts and scholars will be invited to gather together. Apart from the summary of the achievements in the "extraordinary decade”, the forum will continue to inspire all filmmakers to stick to their original aspirations and forge ahead with courage. The topics at the forum include: Reviewing the achievements of major film companies in the past decade, what are the ideas of the filmmakers? Based on the achievements of industrialization and marketization of Chinese films, how can Chinese films improve quality and efficiency in the future and achieve high-quality development? How to make use of incremental activation of stock based on technological innovation, model innovation and content innovation to promote the development of film industry? How to get closer to the goal of a film power through resource reorganization and platform innovation? How to improve the quality of films, create masterpieces and promote the high-quality development of film industry?   Building a film power needs to build a strong film industry. By observing the film industry practices and operating laws of the global film powers, we can see that: it’s an important measure to building a strong film industry through planning and producing brand film series based on audience. The actors and narrative mode are regarded as the important step to build a brand. According to the laws of brand management, the film industry attaches great importance to the film popularization and typification, and integrates the audience and the film together so as to accept and appreciate the film, meet the spiritual and aesthetic needs of the people in China as well as the world, influence the world and take the global market. The film reviews in the new era will focus on the people, take the favor of the masses as the starting point, extend the angle and space of film reviews from the perspective of the film industry, the works and the community and audiences, and build a new ecology of film reviews in line with the goal of building a film power.
