故事梗概：The protagonist, Sergei Bondarchuk, is presented not through the lensof biography as in the tradition of the great biopics, but as a universal, primordial cinematic force. Bondarchuk appears as a kind of reincarnation of Orson Welles, a ‘protoartist’, atonce a great and terrible actor and director, and a genuine force of nature who, it appears, has been born with the sole purpose of entering this world of cinema.It is therefore in Bondarchuk’s power alone to pick up such an ambitious mantle as Warand Peace, as it is only this cinematic commander who can call on the state to rally an entire army. Bondarchuk was a true Russian bogatyr, Othello and Colossus rolled into one, because he was impossible to ignore even in the west.
