At 12:00PM today, the 13th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) Beijing Film Panorama starts the ticket sales as scheduled at Maoyan Entertainment, the official exclusive ticketing platform. The BJIFF has returned to the beautiful and precious spring in Beijing with the full launch of offline activities. The hustle and bustle of the grand occasion is just as expected:
Some have studied the tips for ticket grabbing over and over again and practiced the speed in advance; some have called friends for help with detailed plans; many film fans even come afar to live in hotels near their favorite cinemas with determination of watching films.
Thanks to their enthusiasm and support, the tickets of many films are instantly sold out as soon as the sales start. The WeChat group of film fans is also boisterous, which fully showcases the upcoming “festive" atmosphere.
Now, we’d like to review the "ticketing situation” as usual.
First of all, the three films with the fastest ticket sales include: the 4K digital version of A City of Sadness, A Moment of Romance and the IMAX version of 2001: A Space Odyssey. The sell-out times are astonishing 6 seconds, 8 seconds and 9 seconds respectively. For those who can grab the tickets of these three films, please accept my worship undoubtedly.
The ten films with the most ticket sales include: Aftersun, Poem (4K), Casablanca (4K), The Shawshank Redemption, Tess, BULGARI La Grande Bellezza, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (4K), The Conformist (4K), Here and Raise The Red Lantern.
The Restored Classics section is very popular every year and it’s extremely hard to grab a ticket. The Conformist, Tess, A City of Sadness, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me and Poem will bring you the ultimate 4K viewing experience.
The Carnival section is also one of the most popular one every year. The WB100 Classic Film Screening this year prepares heavyweight classics for the audience, such as Casablanca, 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Shawshank Redemption, which are worth viewing many times.
As for the new films, the film Here by Bas Devos in the Filmmakers in Focus section and the film Aftersun in the Vision section are ranked in the list as expected.
The tickets of most hot films have been sold out now, but there are still some leftovers in every section to be picked up. Those who failed to get tickets can have a try for possible surprises.
