Guan Hu, known as a pioneer representative of China's sixth-generation film directors, has been appointed as President of the Jury for Beijing Film Market Project Pitches of the 9th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF). On April 16th, he will select the winners of seven awards for the Project Pitches along with two members of the Final Round Jury: Chang Chia-Lu, a renowned executive producer and screenwriter and Li Jie, Senior Vice President of Alibaba Pictures.

　　After the preliminary selection and second round selection of the 9th BJIFF-Beijing Film Market Project Pitches running for four months, 10 pitch projects and 6 WIP (Working in Progress) projects have qualified for the final round selection . The 16 projects will be presented in the final round selection road show of the Beijing Film Market Project Pitches on April 16th. Outstanding pitch projects will win the "Special Award", "Best Original Script Award", "Projects with Greatest Commercial Potential" and "Best Creativity Award". The WIP projects will compete for the "Most Investment Value Project Award" and "Most Potential Production Team Award". Remarkably, the Marketing Decision Group consisting of renowned industrial companies will select the winner of the "Most Market Focus Award" after listening to all project presentations.

　　The "Most Market Focus Award" is a new award for the Project Pitches and the winner will be selected upon voting by the Marketing Decision Group regardless of the selection results of the Final Round Jury. Members of the Marketing Decision Group include domestic top film & television production companies, promotion & distribution companies and brokerage companies with the experience of commercial film practice and the strength in film development, production and investment. The award represents the choice of first-line film & television development and investment staff, and provides reference value for film investment and development.

　　Four of the projects shortlisted for the 9th BJIFF-Beijing Film Market Project Pitches will win the "International Promotion Award" and be recommended for presentation and exchanges at world renowned film festivals. And two of them will win the learning and exchange opportunity offered by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPA). The final round road show is vital to every project owner. To further help the project owners make full preparation, the Project Pitches will invite renowned director Jun Lee and Gravity Pictures Senior Vice President Ming Beaver Kwei as trainers to give one-on-one guidance to the road show projects on April 14th. The two trainers will comprehensively guide the project owners in script writing, project presentation and project negotiation skills, to improve the comprehensive quality of the road show projects.

The channel of negotiation appointment for the 9th BJIFF -Beijing Film Market Project Pitches will open on April 13th.
