The BJIFF Project Pitches Movie Our Secret Being Filmed in Chongqing
On April 18, 2021, the movie Our Secret started filming in Chongqing. Once winning the Award of Project Pitches in the 9th Beijing International Film Festival, the movie is attributed to the encouragement and support of project pitches platform, which helps the movie get into the phase of preparation. After many times of script revisions and field visit, the production team kicked off the filming in spring this year.
The original script of Our Secret was written by Shaanxi young director Du Huijun and his twin brother Du Huixin. The film tells the story of the accidental death of the father of Yang Zi, who is a second-year taker of college entrance examination. To prevent from affecting his performance in the examination, the mother and relatives conceal their sorrow, choosing not to tell Yang Zi about his father’s death by telling lies. The deep excavation of the human nature and the hot topics of the society helps the movie stand out of many realistic ones, which is shortlisted for the final roadshow in the 9th Beijing International Film Festival.

The Project Pitches in the 11th BJIFF are still being collected, with the application deadline on May 14. And the WIP application should be submitted by May 20. Interested parties are requested to register through the official website of BJIFF as soon as possible.
