On April 25, the 2nd Metaverse Film Forum of the 13th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) kicked off across time and space. Eight panelists will gather in the digital space featuring the digital-reality fusion at the Metaverse Film Forum for in-depth exploration crossing time and space. They are: sci-fi writer Liu Cixin; film director Stanley Tong; screenwriter Wang Hailin; Li Tingwei, General Manager of Poly Film Investment Co., Ltd.; Yao Wenlong, General Manager of Inner Mongolia Film Studio Co., Ltd.; Li Mingtao, professor at the Central Academy of Drama; lawyer Pang Lipeng; and film director Tony·Reed. 

The opening speaker of the Forum is sci-fi author Liu Cixin, author of Three-Body. As a winner of the Hugo Award, the world Sci-Fi award, Three-Body depicts a three-body civilization outside of the Earth with magnificent brushstrokes, and is hailed as a milestone in Chinese science fiction literature. Liu Cixin elevates Chinese science fiction literature to a world-class level and helps Chinese science fiction embark on a global journey. Three-Body is a global bestseller, translated into more than 10 languages and published worldwide. In his speech, Liu Cixin said, "The digital age and the metaverse must be magnificent and shocking. The production of digital film and television content is a strong help to realize the visualization of imagination!” He urged people to make full use of the opportunities brought by the digital age and the metaverse. "We, who are born at the right time, should seize the opportunities of the time, make science fiction shine, make movies wonderful, and make the world better!”

With the continuous development of science and technology, the metaverse has been gradually incubated by concepts. New breakthroughs in artificial intelligence technology once again help speed up the development process of the metaverse. Metaverse-related technologies are accelerating into deeper integration with technology and everyday life. In this forum, the panelists will share their views on the development direction of digital film and television technology in the metaverse and its impact on human social culture, economy, life, entertainment and other aspects, explore the digital vision, and embrace the modern era of the metaverse!
