Synopsis

Renata seeks refuge in the house of Virginia, her sister. She has nowhere to go. Virginia wants to help her and welcomes her; but the days go by and the everyday drama begins to reveal their relationship, the pain of recognizing and finding themselves in a past that returns and takes strange forms.

Betania Cappato

Born in Argentina in 1984. Her debut feature A School in Cerro Hueso had its premiere at the Berlinale 2021, receiving the Special Mention of the International and Youth Jury in the Generation K Plus Competition. The film was also a candidate for the Tiantan Awards at the Beijing International Film Festival in 2021, and participated in Melbourne, Tallinn Black Nights, Huelva and Mar del Plata, among others festivals, receiving various distinctions. The Ant Woman is her second feature, co- directed with Adrián Suárez, premiered and awarded in Mar del Plata Film Festival in 2023. 

Adrian Suarez

Born in Argentina in 1976. He directed the short films: Emilia (2008), Los caminos que esperan (2010, FIPRESCI Award at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival) and El Adán (2014). He was the scriptwriter for the animated short film La jornada (2007) and collaborated on the script and acted on the film Parapalos (2003, Ana Poliak). The Ant Woman is his first feature film.
