Future World Joins Hands with Journey of Crossing to Benefit Citizens with 20-plus Activities Enjoy Film Carnival in Huairou Studio City

　　Shooting locations of famous films like Monster Hunt are open to visitors for the first time, bringing them an experience of walking the Red Carpet just like a big-name star. On April 15, Film Carnival of the 7th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) opens in the State Production Base of China Film Group & Stellar Megamedia in Huairou District, Beijing and continues until May 1. To ensure normal operation of other sections of the film festival, the venue will be closed on April 16 and 23, so visitors should schedule a reasonable trip to stagger closing hours.

　　The Launching Ceremony of Film Carnival will kick off with the Public Red Carpet Show on the day, attended by authorities of Beijing Municipality and relevant leaders from Huairou District. Besides, performing artists like You Benchang and Liu Dagang, stars and showfolk such as Tao Hong, Gao Yalin, Deric Wan, Ma Yanli and Liu Yizhen, as well as crews including The Chinese Supermodel and Puppy Love will be present at the event (subject to the actual situation).

　　As an important part of the 7th BJIFF, Film Carnival with the theme of “Film Dream Realized in Huairou” leverages the advantages of ecological environment of superior landscape and Huairou Film & Television Industry Park (HRFT) to build a platform for entertainment and participation of citizens and visitors. It is a film culture festival experience event comprehensively incorporating multiple elements such as film and TV technology experience, acousto-optical special effect performance, culinary specialties marketplace, and parent-child recreation. From scheme planning, site arrangement, activity cycle to content arrangement, Huairou has well prepared for the event by engaging professional teams to implement plans and highlighting the characteristics of jubilant delight, interaction and participation, thus making it an event where visitors can watch films, play games and enjoy various foods, while understanding the development of Chinese and foreign film industries and film and television knowledge amid entertainment and participation environment.

　　“Future World” or “Journey of Crossing”--It is up to you

　　This year’s Film Carnival features two major themes, namely, “Future World” (held in State Production Base of China Film Group) and “Journey of Crossing” (in Stellar Megamedia), comprising six key film theme sections including Welcome Area, Film History Retrospect Zone, Film Theme Market, Film Technology and Shooting Experience Area, Film Theme Park and Film Story Experience Park. As the only public-oriented film theme event during the BJIFF, the Film Carnival will enable the vast majority of visitors to experience 24 rich film theme activities suitable for people of all aged, such as Film Shooting Experience, Visit to Film Post Production, Film Theme-related Ice Hockey Activity, Film Theme Honeycomb Maze, 9DVR Film Experience, Zhuangyuan Cruise, Huba's Paradise, and Film Characters Challenge. Enter the “Future World” and you will enjoy the fun of film technology; stroll in the “Journey of Crossing” and you can personally experience the Ming and Qing shooting locations to feel imaginary ancient and modern times and the changes of the times.

　　As the venues of this year’s Film Carnival, Stellar Megamedia and State Production Base of China Film Group have been developing tourism & reception projects in recent years. Stellar Megamedia has now become an exclusive experience area for shooting films and TV series and enjoys high popularity in Beijing for its rich connotation in tourism and new features like “Hui-Style Street” and other entertainment. In Stellar Megamedia, visitors also have the chance to run into film and TV stars. Over the years, the State Production Base of China Film Group, separated from Stellar Megamedia by a wall, has mainly developed the tourism projects centering on costume, make-up and props exhibition, studio experience and outdoor scene touring. In 2017, several new featured theme blocks like “Laopao Street”, “Africa Street” and “Jiangnan Watertown” will leave unforgettable memories to visitors.

　　Besides pre-existing projects, the two zones will offer another 6 wonderful featured sections in the Film Carnival. The shooting locations of some famous films like Monster Hunt will be open to visitors for the first time. Visitors can also enjoy the Public Red Carpet Show and leave their signature on the site like stars. The daily film theme songs & dances, stars concert for films at all ages and meet-and-greet sessions will continue starting the surges of the Film Carnival. In addition, Ice Age theme entertainment, Huba’s Paradise, Colored Childhood Carnival as well as cartoon characters interactions (e.g. Pleasant Goat, Big Big Wolf, Briar, Bramble, Iron Man, Minions and Calabash Brothers) will be highly attractive for children. For the kicksters, Studio 14 provides a real experience as stars with professional crews, scenes, props, costumes and scripts and delicate post-production. In Jiangnan Watertown, a world of virtual reality, visitors can enjoy cartoon character challenges and 9DVR film experience (Suspension Bridge Adventure). Film Theme Diner Town will offer various kinds of delicacies. During the touring, visitors can have a better knowledge of film knowledge upon interaction of smart robots and watch quality films. Amid the 15 days of activities, all the visitors will have unprecedented amazing experience on film and entertainment.

　　As a key tourism district, to intensify promotion and marketing, and make culture benefit the people through Film Carnival, Huairou will offer coupon tickets priced at RMB 80. Travel agencies, groups, online buyers and Huairou's residents with identity cards may enjoy further discounts. Film Carnival tickets will be available online and offline. From early April, tourists will get tickets to Film Carnival of the 7th BJIFF through ticket windows, Stellar Megamedia cinemas, travel agencies and group buying sites. Also, the event will build a link with nearly 20 renowned scenic spots in Huairou like Mutianyu Section of the Great Wall, Qinglong Gorge, Beijing Erguotou Liquor Museum, Shimen Mountain, Beijing Deer World Theme Park and Classic Car Museum. Tourists may enjoy a 20% ticket discount for the scenic spots from April 15 to May 31 with valid Film Carnival tickets.

　　"Tour Film Carnival, Get Fine Gifts". Tourists can scan QR code to participate in two online interactive activities during Film Carnival: "Film Brain Booster" and "Beautiful Moments of Film Carnival" tourist photography competitions, and get gifts. 　　　Film & television elements stimulate industry vitality

　　As the venues for Film Carnival, State Production Base of China Film Group and Stellar Megamedia play significant roles in the development of the film & television industry in Huariou. Huairou's film & television industry started in Stellar Megamedia established in Yangsong Town in 1995; State Production Base of China Film Group which broke ground in late 2005 and went into operation in July 2008 brought Huairou the core resources with which it leads the development of China's film & television industry. In May 2014, Huairou Film & Television Industry Park, Beijing, China was established with the approval of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People's Republic of China.

　　By the end of 2016, a total investment of RMB 6 billion has been put in Huairou Film & Television Industry Park, which has gathered a batch of leading enterprises in the film & TV industry, including China Film Group Corporation and Stellar Megamedia, and attracted over 400 relevant enterprises, such as Bona, Huayi Brothers, Hairun, Pegasus, Beijing Galloping Horse Media Co., Ltd., etc. At present, apart from resources and supporting facilities of State Production Base of China Film Group and Stellar Megamedia, and municipal infrastructures, within the 5.6 square meter core area of Huairou Film & Television Industry Park, Headquarters of Producers under construction can accommodate film studios with a total area of 200,000 square meters, which can be customized to meet the requirements of film enterprises; the second phase of Cineaste Garden Hotel with a total area of 60,000 square meters will serve as office buildings and apartments; competitive enterprise Guoao Group will be responsible for the first-class development of Block 8 of the core area; five-star Cineaste Garden Hotel and Beijing Baihui Arts School are in good operation; project application of  Brilliant-EMI Digital Cinema has been approved, and related buildings have been upgraded and now are able to accommodate crews. With Stellar Megamedia and China Film Group Corporation as the main production bases, the Park has served for about 2,400 film & television works. In recent years, nearly half of domestic films whose box office exceeded RMB 100 million were produced in Huairou. Huairou, Beijing--China Movie Capital is becoming more and more famous and influential.

　　Self-driving: Drive along Beijing-Chengde Expressway and pull out from Exit 14 or 15, follow the road sign to reach the parking lot, and then go to the venue for Film Carnival on foot;
