Brief Introduction of Film Concert, 7th BJIFF

　　Since 2011, Film Concert, as a unique section of Beijing International Film Festival, has been held successfully for six years and become a great cultural event highly anticipated by the audience and film musicians every April, which shows its unique brand effect.

　　For the 7th Beijing International Film Festival, Beijing Performance & Arts Group has planned In the Mood for Love--Chinese Film Concert and La La Land--World Classic Film Concert. While continuing the themes and quality of the Concert in the past six years, this year’s Film Concert will highlight the national character and diversity of film music to ensure every Film Concert is different and has highlights.

　　On April 21, 2017, In the Mood for Love--Chinese Film Concert will present selected excellent Chinese film theme songs from different times. To the audience, those pieces of excellent national film music are the long-lost familiar melodies, the reviving of emotions in different eras, which indicate the development history and national features of Chinese films.

　　On April 22, 2017, La La Land--World Classic Film Concert will present film music from selected Chinese and foreign operas, dramas, musicals, musical films and ballets, reproducing the charm of stage art and film music. In the world film development course, the “crossover” of different types of art has brought new breakthroughs in film art. The combination of stage art and film art has bred a batch of excellent art films that have become a beautiful landscape in the world film industry and promoted the diversified and specialized development of the world film industry.

　　In last two years’ Film Concert, the ceremony of “Tribute to Film Musicians” was strongly supported and actively involved by film musicians. The interaction with film musicians and the respect showed to them were acclaimed by the audience and industry insiders. This year, the Film Concert will make section more creative and ceremonial, adding glamor to the Film Concert and even the Beijing International Film Festival.
