Since then he has been successful as a producer, writer, studio executive and director, creating some 36 movies in his ongoing career. His newest, CATEGORY 5, is finishing post as of this writing.

In 1992, Cohen wrote and directed DRAGON: THE BRUCE LEE STORY which he shot in Hong Kong and Macau. The film proved to be a world-wide success and gave the director his first taste of working in China. As he was quoted, ‘working in China opened my eyes to many things, to the depth of China’s culture, the long sweep of Chinese history, and the warmth and intelligence of her people.

He returned to China 15 years later (2007) to make the epic MUMMY 3, shooting in the Gob Desert and at the Shanghai Studios. The film grossed over $405 million, the highest b.o. take of the franchise’s three films.

He has also directed DRAGONHEART with Denis Quaid and Sean Connery; DAYLIGHT with Sylvester Stallone and Viggo Mortensen; THE RUNNING MAN with Arnold Schwarzenegger and THE SKULLS with Paul Walker and Joshua Jackson.

In 2005, he released STEALTH,  a prescient film about unmanned warfare followed by MUMMY 3, ALEX CROSS, and THE BOY NEXT DOOR with Jennifer Lopez, the 9th most successful erotic thriller in history.

Cohen is a prolific director of TV commercials and wrote the screenplay for his new film CATEGORY 5. He returns to China once again to announce his newest movie SPEEDMASTERS from Jiaflix."When SPEEDMASTERS was sent to me by Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and Marc Ganis, I was immediately engaged by the story and characters. Opportunities to capture speed and action in a new way, using new filmic techniques are rare and valuable to me. So it was with Josh Parkinson’s script. It told a story on which I could build a tapestry of break-the-limit speed, adrenaline, and a core group of great characters. What more could a director want?"
