The 4th Beijing International Film Festival - FILM CARNIVAL？The China Millennium Monument - Film and Technology Section

　　Technology is a key element driving the development of the film industry. This year’s Film Carnival will reveal some of the secrets behind film technology and combine technological concepts with public interest. By simulating special shootings, revealing the secret to sound recordings, introducing live special make-up experiences, and holding a film reparation exhibition, the Carnival will give visitors a feel for the charm of films. Visitors will not only be able to learn more about technological methods in film production, but will also be able to experience life as actors and actresses! As a peripheral market to the Beijing Film Market, the 2014 Film Carnival will focus on “post-production and special effects techniques”, a very important “film factor”.

　　Technology and Special Effects Exhibition

　　The development of the film industry is closely related to that of technology. The Technology and Special Effects Exhibition comprises three Experience Areas, namely: Sound Recording, Special Make-up, and Special Effects. The Sound Recording Area will reveal the secrets of Foley artists. The Special Make-up Area will introduce visitors to the magic of special make-up by featuring tools, models, costumes, pictures and live makeovers. Meanwhile, the Special Effects Area will enable visitors to have a go at acting themselves.

　　Film Restoration Technology Exhibition

　　The Old Film Digitalization and Restoration Project was started by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio Film and Television in 2006 and opened a new page in the digital restoration of films. This exhibition will present modern film restoration technology, as well as restored films and restoration equipment used in the past. Audience will learn about the film restoration process and the edge-cutting technologies used during this process. Various types of cine-projectors, restoration tools, screening tools will appear in this exhibition to bring a dramatic film world to the public!
