Media Briefing for Dark Side of the Moon

Media Briefing for Dark Side of the Moon, German film shortlisted to this year's Tiantan Award, was held at Beijing International Hotel at 15:10 on April 21. Producer of the film Amir Hamz and Cinematographers Felix Daniel Cramer and Stephan Ciupek presented at the meeting.

The film tells a story about the process from drugs to antidotes. Corporate lawyer, Urs Blank, is the undisputed star of his profession. He has money and the perfect wife. But the suicide of a business colleague throws him off track and leads to an attraction with Lucille and her alternative lifestyle. Seduced into experimenting with hallucinogenic mushrooms, his dark side emerges, as with merciless power, long suppressed aggressions burst out and go wild. The once civilised lawyer turns into an instinct-driven individual and erratic murderer. Deeply unsettled by the change he flees to the woods in search of an antidote but the police and his vindictive business partner are already on his tracks.

Stephan Rick, director of the film, participated in the co-written and co-directed film 13 Hours which was nominated for Emmy Awards in 2011. Dark Side of the Moon is his directorial debut.

Stephan Ciupek, one of the cinematographers of the film, once worked as a cinematographer in Slumdog Millionaire and Antichrist.
