The 6th BJIFF Film Carnival to be held in Huairou in April with featured activities

　
　　Film, a flower of human culture and arts. Film Carnival, a great event for experiencing filmed entertainment. From April 9 to May 8, the 6th BJIFF Film Carnival is scheduled to be held at Beijing Huairou Yanqi Lake International Convention Center and Huairou Film & Television Industry Park, Beijing, China. The venues are divided into “a main venue and an affiliated venue”: the main venue is Yanqi Lake, which echoes each other with the venue for the opening and closing ceremonies—Beijing Yanqi Lake International Convention & Exhibition Center; while the affiliated venue is Yangsong Film & Television city. This year coincides with the 110th anniversary of world animated film. This session of Film Carnival will, themed with “Fun？Childhood Fun？Return”, give play to Huairou’s tourism advantages to build an entertainment participation platform for the citizens and tourist, facilitating the development of film and television, convention and exhibition and tourism in Huairou and promoting popularity and influence of Huairou.
    As the main venue for the Film Carnival, Yanqi Lake has meticulously prepared program planning, site arrangement, activity periods and content arrangement, building five activity sections for the carnival: Cartoon Stars, Cartoon Music, Cartoon Gourmet, Cartoon Crossover and Cartoon Interfun. There are a variety of activities, including cartoon music performance, cartoon singer concert, water curtain laser show, featured delicious food gallery, cartoon film panorama, cartoon stars interaction, cartoon role show, cosplay show and animation derivatives. Moreover, some innovative experience projects including cute pets fairyland, automobile films will be added, making it possible for the tourists to stroll in the animated film world with a history of 110 years, fully appreciating and experiencing the splendidness of animation world.
    Yanqi Lake is located at Beijing Huairou Yanqi Lake Ecological Development Demonstration Zone. There are many host places here to hold world-level high-end meetings, including the site of APEC Yanqi Island, Sunrise East Kempinski Hotel and Beijing Yanqi Lake International Convention & Exhibition Center. Through one year of development, the demonstration zone has been picturesque and more entertaining. In 2015, a series of construction projects completed, including the waterfront wharf, Yanqi Lake north bank slow-traffic system, integrated tourist service system (bicycle rental center, battery ferry vehicle, battery sightseeing vehicle, electric guidance, and toilet). This year, a 16-kilometer hiking trail will be built to form a loop of tourist route with three distinctive landscapes and cultural connotations of lake surface, road around the lake and the mountain slope, improving the visitors’ participation and interactivity.
    Additionally, early this year, Yanqi Lake, combining health, culture with tourism, launched the “Beijing Yanqi Lake International Heath Tourism Culture Year 2016” activity throughout the year. The activity has five sections of Film Carnival, Parent-Children Happy Tour, Beer Carnival, Fitness Photography, Yanqi Ice and Snow Festival. During the 6th BJIFF Film Carnival—the first chapter of “Yanqi Lake Tourist Culture Year”, Yanqi Lake will launch parent-children activities with distinctive characteristics, strong entertainment and interestingness, and special tourist itineraries, including “Children Fun Carnival Theme Travel”, “Carnival Parent-Children Tour”, “One-Hundred-Year Animation Experience Tour” and “APEC Site Fitness Tour”, improving the tourists’ participation and interactivity.
    At Huairou Film & Television Industry Park, Beijing, China (HRFT)—an affiliated venue of Film Carnival, Stellar Mega Media Jinsheng will host related activities. State Production Base of China Film Group and Classic Car Museum will greet tourists. Additionally, another ten-odd new activities will be added in addition to film and television sightseeing tour, presenting a screen culture themed entertainment feast.     
    At the affiliated venue, film and television sightseeing tour characteristic of film and television costumes and shooting will be added to new activities and new connotation. On the occasion, Stellar Mega Media Jinsheng will launch film and television cross-through travel, child star grand prix, artist programs and light and shadow culture exhibition, as well as prop and scene exhibition of blockbusters winning both high box office and word of mouth. Moreover, such programs as “I Am a Starlet”, parent-children fairyland will make it possible for the tourist, both adults and children, to experience the pleasure of shadow and light. Four interactions will be carried out between the main venue and the affiliated venue, namely, activities, admission tickets, shuttle bus and publicity interaction. For example, we will arrange cosplay cruise, child star prize presentation and star presentation. Additionally, corresponding to the “1+1” arrangement for Film Carnival, interaction for preferential tickets and shuttle bus are set at the affiliated venue.     The film industry of Huairou started at Stellar Mega Media Jinsheng settled down in Yangsong Town in 1995; State Production Base of China Film Group, which was kicked off at the end of 2005 and put into use at the end of July, 2008, made it possible for Huairou to own key resource to lead the development of national film and television industry. In May 2014, State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People’s Republic of China replied and agreed that Huairou Film & Television Industry Park, Beijing, China (HRFT) was officially established. As of the end of 2015, the accumulated investment of the core area of HRFT had reached 5.5 billion yuan, gathering State Production Base of China Film Group, Stellar Mega Media Jinsheng and other enterprise entities, attracting registration of about 400 film & television and related enterprises, such as Bona Film Group, H. Brothers, HaiRun Movies & TV, Jinyingma Media Co., Ltd and Beijing Galloping Horse Media Co., Ltd. Moreover, Film Producer Headquarters Base and Guanghua Film Industry Park are under construction. Relying mainly on Stellar Mega Media Jinsheng and State Production Base of China Film Group, HRFT has accumulatively received the shooting of 2,000 film and television productions; nearly half of the blockbusters with a box office over 100 million yuan have come from Huairou since 2008. The brand popularity and influence of Beijing Huairou—China’s Capital of Film & Television, is increasingly growing.
    While rapidly developing film & television industry, Stellar Mega Media Jinsheng, State Production Base of China Film Group and Classic Car Museum are developing tourist reception projects, making Huairou well-known in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei with its tourist resources abundant in new connotation. Particularly, Stellar Mega Media Jinsheng developed film and television shooting base sightseeing and experience project in 2006, which has been a tourist attraction with certain popularity covering real man Counter-Strike, and outward development; at the same time, the scenic spot itself is a film and television shooting base, fortunately, tourists may encounter some stars who are shooting films and television here. State Production Base of China Film Group has mainly developed such sightseeing projects including costume, make-up and prop exhibition, photostudio experience tour and shooting location sightseeing. Classic Car Museum, boasting over one hundred classic cars, was open to the tourists in June 2009. Through all-round upgrading before APEC Summit 2014, it has been built into a classic car culture-oriented travel project well-known at home and abroad, mainly including celebrity cars, foreign car exhibition zone, zone for cars such as Red Flag limousine produced at the early stage of the founding of New China.
     The 6th Beijing International Film Festival Film Carnival provides film fans with a relieving space and a jubilant atmosphere, allowing the tourists to enjoy high quality leisure, entertainment experience, and benign natural ecological environment at Yanqi Lake, and deeply feel the unique charm of world film and the openness and vitality of Huairou.
