Sino-Netherland Children’s Film Seminar
On April 19, 2016, China Children’s Film Association, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in China and Chinese Film Culture Institute at Beijing Film Academy (BFA for short) will, joining hands with the Netherlands Film Fund, hold a symposium on both countries’ children films at Medium-Sized Screening Hall, BFA.
Such Dutch films, imbued with unique artistry and commerciality, have been popular across the globe. The hall will witness the Fund Director Doreen Boonekamp’s wondrous overview of Dutch film industry and the co-production agreement as well as fascinating speeches from Dennis Bots—director of Cool Kids Don't Cry winning the best award and topping the box-office, famous screenwriter, director and actor Karen Holst van Pellekaan, and producer Harro van Staverden. On the other hand, Chinese producers, directors, screenwriters, production companies and educators such as Mr Huang Jun—President of China Film Animation Ltd., Ms Zhang Zhenqin—famous screenwriter for Chinese Children’s films and Ms Miao Miao—famous actress in this regard awarded the State First-Class Artist will exchange views in depth with the Dutch counterparts. Since China and the Netherlands signed The Filmmaking Co-operation Agreement in October 2015, this has been a major attempt of promoting Dutch films in China.
