The Angry Birds Movie is based upon a game of the same title. The leading roles Red, Chuck and the ingenuous Bomb are among the oldest Internet celebrities with numerous fans and now are ready to launch onto the big screen. On an island full of happiness lived a bunch of flightless birds, including emotionally problematic Red, swift fool Chuck and explosive Bomb until the sudden appearance of some mysterious green pigs one day. The three birds need to find out why those green pigs came to the island.

The film is written by Jon Vitti, playwright for the Simpsons and directed by Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly (Frozen and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs). The three protagonists Red, Chuck and Bomb will be dubbed respectively by Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad and Danny McBride. The movie will be released on May 13, 2016 in Finland and on May 20 in the US. China is expected to import it around the same time.
