The 5th BJIFF Film Carnival will Grandly Take Place in Huairou district on April 15-24

　　The 5th BJIFF Film Carnival jointly organized by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television and Huairou District People’s Government of Beijing Municipality will take place in Huairou district on April 15-24. By then, Huairou will provide 10-day film entertainment experiencing activity for citizens.

　　As one of seven key activities at the 5th Beijing International Film Festival, with the theme of film, Film Carnival will capitalize on Huairou’s tourist advantages, organizing multiple activities, such as film and TV technology show, acousto-optic effect exhibition, food fair, parent-children play, and celebrity meeting. The film-themed activities will be held at “one main venue, three sub-venues and several service points”. Namely, Yangqi Lake Scenic Area will be the main venue, Yangsong Film and TV Town, Spring Legend Town and Yancheng Ancient Street are three sub-venues. Also, activities will be held at more than 30 cinemas in the downtown. This is the largest-scale carnival activity in the history of the Beijing International Film Festival.

　　As the main venue of this Film Carnival, Yanqi Lake Scenic Area specially designs film series carnivals, consisting of starry sky carnival, visual carnival, entertainment carnival and experiencing carnival, including large water film music show, mysterious celebrity meeting and exquisite film fashion show, as well as new film promotion and 3D art exhibition everywhere, and surprising performance by popular singers. In 10 days, 20 theme activities will take citizens and visitors to celebrate 120 years of movie magic and experience the connotation of films in entertainment.

　　Yangsong Film Town includes three venues: Stellar Mega Jinsheng Film Town, China Film Group Base, and National Museum for Historical Vehicles. All kinds of activities will showcase a splendid feast of modern film town to movie fans, such as martial art talent show, model show, film music show and “Light and Shadow: Yangsong Film Music Concert”. As a location for movie production, Spring Legend Town, a mock-Alpine town, will hold theme activities at its exotic pubs. On the Yancheng Ancient Street, the ancient-costume performance of Queen Mother Xiao Parade will be held, which is designed according to the biography of local celebrities. This performance integrates ancient ritual, folk dance, ancient trade and food cooking, showcasing the cultural characteristics of “this ancient street in the new era.”

　　Apart from Film Carnival, it’s reported that the Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony of the 5th Beijing International Film Festival will be held at International Convention & Exhibition Center Yanqi Lake Beijing. This is first time that the Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony are held outside Beijing downtown, thanks to advanced hardware and software facilities, and beautiful ecological environment possessed by International Convention & Exhibition Center Yanqi Lake Beijing, as well as Huairou’s industrial environment and development potential as China Film Capital, the only national film industry demonstration zone. Huairou Film Industry Demonstration Zone, Chinese Academy of Sciences Science and Education Industrial Park and Yangqi Lake Ecological Development Demonstration Zone are three key industrial functional zones in Huairou’s development. They will demonstrate a mutual and integrated development in the future. Huairou -- a new high-end culture and technology zone, will gain the international reputation and write a new chapter of film culture and convention development with the 5th Beijing International Film Festival.
