The first part of the film list is announced today!

 

  The sixth Beijing International Film Festival is going to kick off on April 16, 2016.The Beijing Film Panorama will begin a week in advance, which means there will be arranged advance screenings from April 8 to 15 and the screening will go on till the closing day on April 23.

  The Beijing Film Panorama this year will select about 300 outstanding films from both domestic and foreign which will be screened for nearly thousands of times in 25 cinemas and 5 universities in Beijing.

  The corporation cinemas include China Film Archive Art House, Broadway Cinematheque MOMA, Inside-Out Theatre and other art cinemas; High qualified cinemas owned by Wanda Cinema Line Corporation and MEGABOX, etc.

  On February 22nd, the Beijing Film Panorama of BJIFF announced the first part of the film list,including 6 programmes and 19 films in total: "Alien" series, the 20th anniversary of Milkyway Image, the 110th anniversary of American film master Billy Wilder and commemoration of three excellent actresses YanYan Chen, Marilyn Monroe, Setsuko Hara relatively and so on.

  These films are all the famous classic works in film history, and there are still other films waiting to be unveiled in following days, please wait and expect the complete list with us.

Jewish Wilder implies satire in his humor and acquired the ingenious elegance of comedy master Liu Bieqian after learning with him. Film noir and romantic comedy are generally regarded as his primary domain. However, it would be better to say that romance and black are two tones of his works, which intervene and interact with each other and form Wilder-featured ambiguous "tragicomedy" in the end.

  Chinese character "niang" means female, including daughter, mother and wife in its literal meaning. Family melodramas in Showa period roll out family life and interpret the traditional ethics of the east centering on female roles. Thus, these three words encompass almost all classic roles acted by Setsuko Hara. She establishes the ideal image of new women through a gentle and independent manner in a conservative family structure. The first batch of film lists released include the three films played by Setsuko Hara and Yasujiro Otsu.

Kiko's aunt and friends all show much concern on her marriage, while she is reluctant to talking about marriage due to her attaching to her father. Soon after, her aunt introduces the single Miwa Akiko to Ku Chou who shows glad consent. After learning this, Kiko feels deeply disappointed.

Parents and brothers of her make respective efforts for Kiko's marriage and manager Satake also introduces Manabe from a boble family to her. However, Kiko admires her brother's colleague Yabe Kenkichi, a poor widow man with a three-year-old daughter.

  

  Tokyo Story(1953)

  The film tells the story that the 70-year-old couple living in the onomichi of a small seaside town leave from their hometown to visit their children in Tokyo. After receiving the cold reception of their married children, they decide to return to their home. Unfortunately, his old wife got sick and died at the end of the journey.

  

  Goddess:In Memory of Chen Yanyan

  Chen Yanyan, one of the most well-known actresses in early China, was born in a family of Plain Yellow Banner and betrayed her family for her great crush on film. Yanyan is not her original name but was later given by Mr. Li Minwei, one pioneer of China's film. She, with little body and fine voice, often played innocent and lovely roles in her early years and was praised as "young swallow in South China" for her excellent performance inStory of the South. After rising to be one of the four famous dans in Beijing opera, she changed her path in film and became the genuine "tragedy queen". She had been active in the film field from 1930s to 1980s and witnessed the transition and development of films in the Mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

 

  The Striving(1953)

  Foreman Zheng of one electric factory and Yuan live in the second floor of the old foreign-style house of primary school teacher Mr. Liu, while Jiao Damao and his adopted daughter Yangu live in the third floor and Mr. Liu lives in the first floor himself. Yangu provides meals for Zheng and Yuan and as a result eternal triangle arises among these three. For Yangu refuses to intercourse with one rich merchant, Jiao Damao beats her cruelly and Zheng allowes her to hide in his own room. After realizing that Zheng is sunk in sleep, Yuan intends to offend Yangu. Zheng wakes up suddenly with a start and begins to struggle with Yuan. Mr. Liu and Jiao Damao are woke up in succession and then Zheng grabs Yangu and goes far away. Yuan finds Xiao Zheng in the end by making all endeavors and as a result the two are put into prison for fight. After outbreak of the anti-Japanese war, the two are released from the prison in advance and join the army. However, Yuan lost his life unfortunately.

However, he finds Jiayin and requests her to find a job for him but Jiayin rejects. As a result, Father Yu claims that his daughter and Xia Zongyu have dubious relationship. After learning this, Mrs. Xia returns to home quickly and negotiates with Jiayin and then Jiayin leaves for not being a destoryer of this family.
