Last Three Days Left for The 6th Beijing International Film Festival-Beijing Film Market Project Pitches Solicitation

　　The solicitation of the 6th Beijing International Film Festival-Beijing Film Market “Project Pitches” has begun since January 29th.  The speed for solicitation rose by 36% over the past years, as receiving nearly 350 submissions in the past one and a half month. Even there are still three days left for the solicitation, the Organizing Committee of  Beijing International Film Festival has made a preliminary analysis on the solicitation as well as those success declaration projects for project parties and industry participants who care about the progress of “Project Pitches”.The Organizing Committee highlights three features of this year’s solicitation, which will be closed on March 10th.

　　Feature 1: Wider range of companies participating

　　Based on the general status, a wider range of companies participating compared to last year. Many new cross-border or transformation Internet film companies brought their high-quality projects to Project Pitches. For half of the companies, it is the first time to join in Project Pitches.  As the major sector of Beijing International Film Festival, Beijing Film Market has grown to be China’s biggest film market and nurtured hundreds of distinguished directors and numerous excellent film projects through “Project Pitches” since 2012.

　　Feature 2: Romance and Comedy still the most-submitted genre

　　22.5% of the submitted projects are solicited under the genre column of“Romance”. Meanwhile, “Comedy” projects account for 21.4%. The Romance and Comedy projects take almost half of all submissions in total.  Though“Suspense” and “Drama”still take a small proportion among the other half of the projects, are seeing a growth of amount respectively.

　　Feature 3: More awards aiming at project incubation

　　This year’s Beijing Film Market particularly attaches importance to nurture of important high-quality projects. The nurture will focus on incubation service support and international promotion.  Beijing Film Market will not just simply award the finalist projects, but also provide services such as legal, finance and pitching consulting (even the details of signing a contract), which genuinely help the projects to grow through serial supports.“Foundation Award for Chinese New Filmmakers" and "MPA Award" will be remained, at the same time, four other awards to honor the finalist projects. In addition, new awards are under promotion and confirmation, as many film industry foundation and relevant enterprises pay much attention to the projects of Beijing Film Market. We believe this year’s Project Pitches will take advantages of the overall prosperity of the industry, digging and discovering more outstanding projects.
