Launch of poster collection for the 5th Beijing International Film Festival

 
 

The 5th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) will take place in April, 2015. Since its debut in 2011, BJIFF in four successful editions held draws over 10,000 distinguished guests and more than a million moviegoers, and has emerged as a key platform of promoting the development of China’s movie-making and film industry and enhancing sino-foreign exchange, trade and cooperation in films and film production.

As its opening day approaches, the 5th BJIFF Poster Solicitation Activity has been officially launched. With the mission of “Share the Screen, Shape the Future,” the initiative will solicit outstanding poster works from professional organizations and the public; total of 11 finalists (works for final selection) will be selected through audition (open selection), preliminary selection and second-round selection, as the winning individuals or organizations will receive cash prize and certificate of honor issued by the BJIFF Organizing Committee.

 

Specific requirements of poster solicitation:

2.      3.      A.    BJIFF logo

B.     Official name of the 5th BJIFF in both Chinese and English

C.     Official name of host(s) and organizer(s) in both Chinese and English

3.2. All contents of entries to the poster solicitation must be original works that have neither been published in any form nor made public. 

4. Notes of works and submission requirements

4.1. Hard copy should be in A3 paper size, framed in one black cardboard; creativity description should be printed on an A3 paper and attached to the other side of the black cardboard.

4.2. Submit 2 set of poster design work in E-version; the first one is in TIFF or JPGE format, with resolution precision above 300dpi, while the second set is in AI or EPS format.

4.3. Please visit BJIFF official website http://www.bjiff.com to search and download film festival LOGO, Tiantan Awards trophy and core graphics; at the same time, related use standards must be observed

4.4. Submitter should present “The 5th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) Official Poster Solicitation Registration Form” (details refer to Attachment I) with signature or seal or signature + seal.

4.5. Works containing with photo(s) should submit documentary evidence with legal effect of portrait right and the right to use the photo.

4.6. Works submitted should differ from promotional posters of other film festivals in pronounced fashion.

4.7. Works submitted shall not contain any content in breach of the Constitution of the People's Republic of China or other laws and regulations.

4.8. Works submitted or any materials of work development and creation shall not violate any copyright, trademark right or other intellectual property right or exclusive right of any third party, and shall not violate any other rights in any way of any third party.

4.9. Works submitted shall not contain any content of alleged ethnic discrimination and religious discrimination, of threatening neighborly and friendly relations between countries, and of contrary to social and moral ethics and virtuous customs.

4.10. The Organizing Committee will not return all entries; submitters should keep draft (original copy).

4.11. Submitters are responsible for all expenses incurred during the activity.

5. Selection procedure

·         Solicitation: 10/29/2014 – 12/25/2014 (online publicity & solicitation)

·         Preliminary selection: 12/26/2014 – 01/05/2015 (2o works selected by the Publicity & Promotion Department)

·         Second round selection: 01/06/2015 – 01/15/2015 (11 works selected by the selection committee members)

·         Winner announcement: February 2015 (collect big size work, sign copyright agreement and use on the 5th BJIFF)

 

6. Prize

Total cash prize: RMB 75,000

First prize (One): RMB 30,000 cash money + certificate of honor

Second prize (Two): RMB 10,000 cash money/person + certificate of honor

Third prize (Three): RMB 5,000 cash money/person + certificate of honor

Outstanding awards (Five): RMB 2,000 cash money/person + certificate of honor

7. About copyright

7.1. All submitted works must keep originality of the design; work creator shall take responsibility for any infringement act that may arise.

7.2. Ownership of poster works for this activity will belong to the BJIFF Organizing Committee; Organizing Committee is entitled to make copies, publish (e-publishing included), exhibit and promote all winning works.

7.3. For the works into the final round of selection, Organizing Committee is entitled to request creators of those with excellent creativity but failing to fully reflect film festival’s essence to re-develop by self-organizing professional designers or organization(s).

7.4. The creator has right of authorship and is entitled to receive cash prize and certificate of honor.

 

8. Works solicitation deadline

The deadline for this solicitation activity is December 25, 2014 as determined by the postmark on the receiving package of paper version, which is marked by text of “the 5th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) Official Poster Solicitation.” Please mail the package with the 5th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) Official Poster Solicitation Registration Form to BJIFF Organizing Committee.
