Synopsis: In 1934, the Central Soviet Base Area is finally overrun in the "fifth anti-encirclement campaign”. In order to preserve the strength, the Central Red Army is forced to make the strategic transfer. Through arduous battles, the Red Army breaks through the three defense lines by the Kuomintang and approaches the Xiangjiang River. With the correct judgment and command by Mao Zedong, the Red Army achieves the victory in the battles of Chishui River and the Dadu River. Despite unimaginable difficulties, the troops have crossed the snow-capped mountains and marshes with the final union of the three main forces in Huining, Gansu province in October, 1936.
