Black humor movies are always an addiction for a mix of multiple storylines, laughing plots, connected foreshadowing and unexpected ending. Provoking Laughter now under production is one of them. This April 16, Director Tang Xu will bring his star team of Pan Yueming, Wu Yue, Lin Peng, Gao Shengyuan and Tan Kai to the red carpet ceremony of the 6th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF).
The film tells the story of a cover-faking nobody forced to be double agent between cops and gangsters. Pan Yueming plays this luckless man between black and white.
Quentin Tarantino is a must-know name for black humor. Different from classic black humor films that labelled by Quentin Tarantino in script and technique, Provoking Laughter chooses not the iconic "violence" approaches in Quentin Tarantino's movies, but presents typical "Quentin Tarantino" roles, story, dialogue, structure, and even nonlinear narration in a way that audiences may like. It aims to bring unexpected experience to audiences by film language, actor shaping, soundtrack, props effect and scene setting.
The film Provoking Laughter is planned to hit cinemas in the next half year, and fans' expectation is high for this black humor work still under shooting that discloses little information by now. So stick to the 6th Beijing International Film Festival on April 16 and the Red Carpet Ceremony for latest news about the film!
