New Voice for Film: The Theme Forum to be Launched Soon
Led by industrial expertise and with an international perspective, the Theme Forum this year is intended to organize 3 film power forums and 3 theme forums. These events will invite outstanding filmmakers, film industry representatives and renowned film scholars at home and abroad to discuss a host of important topics, such as how Chinese films relate to their foreign audiences, international film-oriented exchange and cooperation, how to make realism films, creative thought and imagination of you filmmakers, film investment and financing and the integration between science and film and television works. These discussions will offer new inspirations for the development of Chinese film, and contribute “Chinese wisdom” and “Chinese strength” for the development of world cinema.

Film Power Forum on Industry - Projecting Your Stories Across Seas
Time: 10:00AM-12:00PM, Sunday, April 23, 2023

Film has become an important vehicle for international people-to-people and cultural exchange. The film power forum on industry of this year’s BJIFF is about how to project Chinese stories across seas and how to make Chinese films relate to their foreign audiences better. We will invite a host of film institution heads, international film festival presidents, renowned filmmakers, experts and scholars to discuss how to communicate with the world using film language and how to promote international exchange and communication with film as the media.

Film Power Forum on International Cooperation - Cultural Exchange with Films

This forum is held under the theme of “Cultural Exchange with Films”, aiming at facilitating film-powered communications. A number of Chinese and international film industry representatives will be invited to the forum. It will focus on international film cooperation from the perspectives of film production and filmmaking, platform building and exchange and mutual learning. The goal is to promote film industry cooperation and cultural exchange, and push forward the exchange and mutual learning of human civilizations.

The forum will focus on the directors, screenwriters, acting and film criticism of realistic films. It is expected that, starting from the participants’ creation experience, they will discuss the human values expressed by literary and artistic works in order to make literary and artistic creation relate to ordinary people and human nature and resonate with the time and audiences.

The forum is organized under the theme of “Film Technology Integration for A Greater Film Capital”, and it will focus on the development of China film capital and the integration of science and technology and films in order to build a top notch domestic forum where scientists and artists can compare notes. The discussion will be thoroughly led by young filmmakers in order to build a communication platform between them and college students and reflect their unique thoughts on themselves, culture and society.
