14th BJIFF Poster Submission Contest Now Open: Charting Film Landscape with Heart, Embracing Extraordinary Journey Together!
Between the film and us, film posters play a critical role.
The film poster is like the curtain half covering the screen. It cunningly refuses to reveal the entire content of the film, intentionally leaving a corner concealed for a sense of suspense. Therefore, the poster promises us: Please go to the cinema and experience the adventure we prepare for you.
Last year, the Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) launched the call for submissions of the main poster, joining hands with a multitude of creators to create a colorful landscape, making it see another spring of Chinese cinema. Among the 338 submissions, more than 10 outstanding works came to the Expert Review process and 3 works the Popular Voting process. Eventually, Spring is Coming stood out and was designated as the official main poster.

Spring is Coming uses the camera and film to symbolize movies, windmills in ripples to signify the Tiantan Award, and swallows and willows to stand for the vibrant early spring. The fusion of these multiple elements is a symbol of a new spring created jointly by creators and movie fans approaching gracefully.
The BJIFF held in spring is about to go into its 14th year. What kind of adventure awaits us?
To embrace this new and joyful unknown, the Organizing Committee of the Beijing International Film Festival officially launches a poster contest for the 14th BJIFF, inviting submissions of creative and artistically exceptional poster designs from the whole society, and encouraging individuals or professional design agencies to get involved.
Creativity Requirements
The poster for the 14th BJIFF should display a strong film culture atmosphere or cleverly incorporate film elements. In terms of design, it should be characterized by an "international standard, Chinese characteristics, and Beijing style". Designers can choose their own themes based on their design concepts.
We hope your work is filled with sincerity towards films:
The work shall be completely based on original ideas, without any infringement or plagiarism. Any plagiarism will result in the disqualification of the author from the award by the BJIFF Organizing Committee.
The work, where your artistic passion is expressed, will position the BJIFF as a professional and international one.
The work shall show artistic elegance in content, without generating ambiguity, and will highlight the film culture atmosphere. Also, it should also showcase the characteristics and logos of the BJIFF, conveying positive energy.
The work will display the unique regional characteristics and culture of Beijing as a city.

Activity Flow
The submission activity is open to the public, with a duration of three months for submission from September 1, 2023 to November 30, 2023. It contains three rounds of selection, and a main poster for the BJIFF will be finalized and officially unveiled at the press conference of the 14th BJIFF.
Prize Distribution
The announcement of the winners will be made on the official WeChat account, official Weibo account and official website of the BJIFF (copyright agreement for large-sized images will be required). The activity shall be subject to the final interpretation of the BJIFF Organizing Committee.
