Complete Film List Announced! New works and classics gather together to cheer for the birthday of the movie!
In the vibrant spring of April, the 15th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) will arrive as scheduled. This year's "Beijing Film Panorama" brings together more than 300 films, covering a variety of wonderful works such as global masterpieces, classic restorations, and Chinese-language newcomers, striving to present a feast of light and shadow spanning a century of film history.
2025 is a particularly special year. It is not only the 130th anniversary of the birth of world film, but also the 120th anniversary of the birth of Chinese film. The “Beijing Film Panorama” has specially planned “120 Years Applause: Chinese Film Special Screening” and “130 Years Self-portrait”. Works such as The Cave of the Silken Web, The Goddess, A Trick of the Light and Primitive Diversity will lead the audience to look back on the century-long history of film.

For movie fans who want to "catch up" systematically, the two major sections “Retrospective” and “Filmmaker in Focus” are definitely not to be missed. Among them, “Nonstop Waves of Dogme 95” reviews this far-reaching film movement through the classics of now internationally renowned directors such as Lars von Trier, Thomas Vinterberg, and Nicolas Winding Refn.

Of course, the “Homage-Restoration” and “Homage-Commemoration” which have always been favorites of movie fans are still wonderful. Among them, the "Homage-Commemoration" unit spans a century, bringing everyone films of special commemorative significance such as Greta Garbo's famous work Gösta Berling's Saga and the family video documentary Charlie Chaplin: The Spirit of the Tramp shot by Chaplin's granddaughter. At the same time, in addition to screening famous works such as Andrei Rublyov, the “In Memory of Tarkovsky” special also specially includes a new documentary work by his son.

“Carnival” is still a carnival of genre film. “Midnight Thrill” brings together films of suspense and thriller genres such as The Old Woman with the Knife and Presence; The specially added “Universal Horror” will screen horror classics such as Frankenstein and Dracula; Sports Film Week, “Peking Opera Film Project” films and Beijing Ethnic Film Festival can cover the needs of fans of more different types of themes.

Popular units such as “Reality Rocks”, “Women's Voice” and “Screen/Off” will continue to show everyone the diverse perspectives and rich dimensions of film art. Among them, the real images of Afternoons of Solitude and Ms. Hu's Garden are truly moving; Stories with female themes such as I Am Still Here and On Becoming a Guinea Fowl show us different kinds of female power; Works on different "stages" and media, such as Hans Zimmer & Friends: Diamonds in the Desert, La Traviata, and Blossoms Shanghai · Long Time No See Special Ceremony, continue to expand the possibilities of the big screen.

Continuing the XR tradition of previous years, this year's “Boundless ∞ Immersive Section” is themed “Galaxy of Movie”, with significant improvements in many aspects such as curatorial ideas, screening space and screening technology.

“Boundless Cinema” presents the charm of VR and MR art in various forms through global masterpieces such as Ito Meikyū, Impulse: Playing With Reality and Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom; “Immersive Space · Boundless Visuals” forms a rich screening spectrum with artists' works such as Artificial Intelligence Infinite Film, Theatre of Emotions • Landscapes of the Mind , 90 Minutes Cosmology and “Tribute to 120 Years of Chinese Cinema: University Showcase” , outlining the imagination of future narratives in the digital age.

The unit works span multiple forms such as VR, AR, MR, Panoramic Screen, tri-fold screen and image interactive installation, using technology as pen and experience as ink to reshape the boundaries of light and shadow.
