The 15th BJIFF and related Film Carnival Activities Kicked Off at the China Film Studio
At this special historical moment marking the 130th anniversary of the birth of world cinema, the 120th anniversary of the birth of Chinese film, and the 15th anniversary of the founding of the Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF), the 15th BJIFF is being held from April 18 to 26, 2025.

As one of the important venues for this year's BJIFF and Film Carnival, China Film Studio embarks on a star-studded film culture journey. From April 18 to 27, the BJIFF and related Film Carnival activities are being grandly held in the China Film Studio Park, bringing a splendid feast of film and culture to the general public and film lovers.

First of all, as an important part of this year's BJIFF and Film Carnival, China Film Studio hosted two events: the China Film Group Classic Screening Series and the Film Salon, themed “When Movies Meet AI: Opportunities and Challenges for the Film Industry in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.” The screening of the China Film Group Classic Series is being held from April 18 to 27 in the high-format screening hall of the International Conference Center, Building 6, China Film Studio Park. China Film Studio has selected six classic domestic films, including Song of Youth, The Little Flower, The Last Emperor, A Hand Cuffed Passenger, Mysterious Buddha, and Early Spring, which will be screened one film for free every afternoon from 14:00 to 17:00.
Visitors who want to participate in the free movie viewing event only need to collect two stamps at the entrance of China Film·People's Cafe and the high-format screening hall (west entrance of the International Conference Center, Building 6), take photos and check in, forward them to their Moments or REDnote, and follow the two WeChat Official Accounts “China Film Studio” and “CFGC Grand Hotel”, then could receive a free movie ticket and easily relive classic movies. The number of movie tickets is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last.
China Film Studio also carefully displayed classic scenes from the films The Last Emperor and Early Spring at the exit of the theater for the audience, and matched them with a variety of special costumes. Audiences can dress in costumes for photos and check-ins, immersing themselves in the characters of the play and capturing the joy and emotions brought by this timeless classic.
The Film Salon event “When Movies Meet AI: Opportunities and Challenges for the Film Industry in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” will be held on April 23 in the ancient courtyard area of Building 4 of China Film Studio. The salon specially invited AI research experts, film technology experts, film creators, etc. to focus on hot topics in the film industry and concentrate on discussing the changes and impacts that artificial intelligence has brought about in various aspects of film creation, production, distribution, and screening, as well as the opportunities and challenges it has brought about at multiple levels such as film creation and the film industry.

From April 19 to 27, a series of exciting Film Carnival activities are taking place in Studio 13 of China Film Studio, the “Jiangnan Water Town” outdoor filming location, Ginkgo Avenue, and other related areas. Studio 13 serves as an important venue for various activities over the 8 days. On April 19, the Film Carnival Art Festival was grandly launched, integrating red carpet shows, cultural performances, etc., perfectly showcasing the fusion of light and shadow art and culture. On April 20, the M China Fashion Awards kicked off, with many models, supermodel mentors, and well-known designers gathering on the scene to interpret diverse fashion styles. On April 21, the Chinese Music Charts held its “Singing into the Future” Music Performance, celebrating its 20th anniversary in grand style. On April 22, the Global Fashion Gala was gloriously launched. As a hub for international cultural exchange and an incubation platform for a new generation of talents, it brought together domestic fashion elites through fashion red carpets, award ceremonies, and other events. On April 23, the 2025 Chinese Fashion Gala will integrate diverse cultural elements such as film art and intangible cultural heritage aesthetics, launch a star-studded red carpet, artistic performances, and other events to create a fashion and entertainment event. From April 25 to 26, the Voice of the Future National Youth Culture and Art Festival, with the theme of “Light and Shadow of Children's Dream, Art Opens the Future”, will focus on five major tracks including children's film, television and drama, providing a high-standard display stage for young people across the country. From April 25 to 27, the Voice of the Future Youth Film, Television and Media Arts Study Tour Camp will leverage the resources of the BJIFF to allow more children to experience the charm of film, television, and media arts. On April 27, the Golden Anchor Cultural Festival will be grandly opened in the studio. Through red Carpet events, award ceremonies, summit forums for hosts, and other events, it will jointly create an industry event.
From April 18 to 27, the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Movies event is being held at the “Jiangnan Water Town” outdoor filming location of China Film Studio. The event has integrated intangible cultural heritage with movie scenes to create a cross-border experience of “film travel + intangible cultural heritage”. At the same time, the theme exhibition halls around the “Jiangnan Water Town” outdoor filming location have also been surprisingly opened. The exhibits in the exhibition halls span different eras and cover a variety of themes. Some of the exhibition halls authentically restore scenes from classic movies. Visitors can immersively experience the unique charm of film art, take photos and check in, and capture beautiful moments.
What's even more lively is that from April 18 to 27, more than 50 stalls in the food street and cultural and creative market will be presented in sequence on part of Ginkgo Avenue of China Film Studio. Visitors can not only appreciate and purchase creative cultural and creative products, but also taste a wide range of delicious snacks and enjoy a full day.
Visitors can also go to the China Film·People's Cafe located in the China Film Studio Park to taste the film and television national trend co-branded coffee.
