When Light Chooses You | Market Screening Call for Entries Now Open
When the theater lights go out, a single beam of light emerges from the projection window, creating a path of illumination. In this beam, countless specks of dust become visible, dancing; they were previously hidden and formless, but the passage of light gives them contour and a leaping vitality.
Every film waiting to be seen is much the same. It waits quietly for that beam of light capable of "projecting" it into being - the right moment, the right setting, and the right audience.

The scenes of Market Screening of the 15th Beijing Film Market
The Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) Market Screening is dedicated to creating that pure "dark space" - where noise fades away, where the most professional eyes converge, and where the sole focus becomes the world unfolding on the screen. Here, there are no accidental viewers, only the gaze of global festival programmers, established distributors, and purchasing decision-makers. Their attention alone is the beam of light that can alter the destiny of a film.
This is more than just a screening; it is a precise arrival. Since its relaunch in 2021, the Market Screening has successfully presented nearly 100 outstanding Chinese and international films. Among them, titles such as The Panda Adventure, The Great Ambition, The Lost Daughter, Fast & Feel Love, River of Salvation, and others have successfully secured distribution partnerships both domestically and abroad. Over time, the BJIFF Beijing Film Market's Market Screening has refined a clear and mature selection logic: focusing on niche yet high-quality works, choosing films capable of transcending borders and evoking deep emotional resonance among audiences, while also demonstrating solid artistic value and considerable market potential.
To support small and medium-sized films in reaching international audiences, assist young filmmakers with their first or second feature films, and provide more overseas exposure for Project Pitches projects, this year's BJIFF Market Screening unit will comprehensively strengthen the international promotion and support for works by young filmmakers. Selected films will not only have the opportunity to engage in face-to-face exchanges with international festival programmers and distributors from various countries during the festival but also participate in official promotional activities, gaining professional global exposure and resource matching. We sincerely invite filmmakers to actively participate, and we extend a special invitation to young creators who have previously collaborated with the BJIFF - we look forward to seeing you return with new works as we work together to spread the light even further.
