South Korean Film Director Ki-duk Kim Died of Complications of Covid-19
It is reported that South Korean famous director Ki-duk Kim passed away in Latvia due to complications of covid-19.
Ki-duk Kim is a well-known director and screenwriter, whose works were shortlisted for a slew of international film festivals such as Venice International Film Festival and won various awards.

Kim won 2 Best Screenplay Awards of the Korean Film Council twice for his screenplays Second Exposure and Illegal Crossing. In 1996, he made his maiden work Crocodile. In 2000, he released the experimental work Truth and set up his own film company. In 2003, Spring Summer Fall Winter and Spring was released, which competed for the 2004 Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.

In 2004, he won the Silver Bear for Best Director at the 54th Berlin International Film Festival for Samaritan Girl. In September of the same year, he won the Silver Lion for Best Director at the 61st Venice International Film Festival for 3-Iron.
In 2012, his work Pieta won the Golden Lion for Best Feature Film at the 69th Venice International Film Festival.

In April 2015, he served as a jury member of the Tiantan Award at the 5th Beijing International Film Festival.
