The BJIFF new Movement Section is celebrating its second year with the theme “Future” this year.
In the first year of the new Movement Section, the Master’s Image Display themed "Poesie of Illusions" and related forums were successfully held. We intuitively presented contemporary video art to the audience in a completely open manner, which was not only a yearning but also a reflection.
This year, the new Movement Section will present brand-new "Worldwide Artistic Pathfinder", a call for entries from talented creators around the world. The call for entries will be launched on April 25, 2024. A professional jury of 52 international members has been established and the ten major tracks based on film and television creation positions are as follows: 01. Digital Shorts, 02. Director, 03. Dramatic Literature, 04. Film Production Design, 05. Graphic Design, 06. Sound Art, 07. Illuminated Art, 08. Cinematography, 09. Film Editing, 10. Costume Design.
The program is named "Worldwide Artistic Pathfinder". We will not only extend the scope of recruitment from film and television schools to art schools and social talents, but also set up a multi-dimensional jury, such as Illuminated Art, where we will invite lighting directors who have accumulated excellent working experience in the film industry, contemporary artists whose works focus on the discussion of light, and architects whose job centers on light, shadow, and space, to form the jury. Our explorations aim to bring more profound impacts on contemporary "pan art and film".

There is no real innovation, but only a far-reaching root tracing. In the flow of art history, the painting, sculpture and even architecture used to have very strong practical characters. As for the contemporary art, the CG, scenery, and other practical arts in the field of film and television creation are the continuation of this vein.

In the spring of 2023, the Artificial Intelligence Revolution provided better evidence of the full three-dimension that the new Movement Section has been exploring -- how we can see yesterday's "crossovers" from a new perspective --- today's fusions and reorganizations. The exhibition of Marcel Duchamp Fountain in 1917 triggered a heated discussion on how anything can be a medium for art creation, and artists started to make a lot of explorations. Where should new art appear in the age of artificial intelligence? How will it look like? Creators need to spend more time thinking.
