"Hidden Landscapes" is a music documentary film. Through the solitary artistic journey of composer Chen Qigang, I attempt to present the independent and bold personality of this musician. The story begins at Huangniling, a place of seclusion for the protagonist. I search him out, traversing mountains and hills, seeking to understand his life choices. After being steeped in Chinese traditional culture for 30 years, Chen went to Paris in 1984. The different cultural environments of China and France enabled him to grow into a unique figure in the field of classical music.
