Film Power Forum on Industry—Projecting Your Stories Across Seas
The Film Power Forum on Industry—Projecting Your Stories Across Seas of the 13th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) will be held on April 23 in Beijing. The forum, co-hosted by the BJIFF Organizing Committee and the China Film Archive (China Film Art Research Center), will discuss the paths and methods of international expression and communication of Chinese films based on how to better tell China’s stories with a view to enhancing the communication and influence of Chinese films.

▍Global filmmakers to get together and exchange on internationalization of Chinese stories
Since the 2023 Chinese New Year, Chinese films have embraced a good start with the release of several high-quality blockbusters, such as The Wandering Earth II, Full River Red and Hidden Blade, which have not only achieved remarkable results in Chinese mainland, but also gained a good reputation and satisfying box office overseas.
Amid profound changes in the international ecology, media pattern and communication mode, film has already become an important carrier of communication for international people-to-people exchanges. Therefore, how to better tell stories is extremely urgent. Chinese filmmakers need to carry out the artistic expression, cultural communication and other aspects in a more international manner.
Present at the forum will be heads of film companies, well-known filmmakers, industry experts and scholars and other guests at home and abroad. Based on their own working experiences, from the perspectives of performance, creation, film production and film festivals, they will jointly discuss how to better tell Chinese stories, improve the international communication of films, enhance exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations, and better promote Chinese culture around the globe.
