Media Registration of the 6th BJIFF Kicks Off

The 6th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) is to be held in Beijing from April 16th to 23rd, 2016. The Organizing Committee of BJIFF started to accept media registration on Feb. 5th. BJIFF anticipates the pleasure of having both domestic and foreign journalists report the festival.
The 5th BJIFF attracted 340 plus film institutions, and 14,000 plus VIPs and professionals from more than 50 countries and regions. A total of 930 films from 90 countries and regions entered for the competition section of “Tiantan Award”. Among the entries, 808 are international films and 122 are domestic ones. Many of them held their international premieres at BJIFF. Beijing Panorama saw diversified categories of screened films which received wide accolades. A total of 1,524 films from 103 countries and regions entered for Beijing Panorama. Beijing Forum presented frontier and professional topics with numerous distinguished guests adding luster to it. The Chinese and foreign participants included Jean Jacques Annaud, Tom DeSanto, Amanda Neville, Darren Aronofsky, Dylan Tichenor, Jeff Burke, Huang Jianxin, Tsui Hark, Stanley Tong, Sun Zhou, Lin Minjie, Liao Qingsong, and Zhou Liming. Film Market exhibitors cover the whole industrial chain of film, with scale and quality ascending to a new high. There were a total of 275 registered exhibitors, up 11% y-o-y, out of which 140 were international exhibitors, accounting for 51%. International exhibitors came from 25 countries and regions including the US, Canada, France, Germany, and Russia. More than 12,000 Chinese and foreign exhibitors and professionals participated in 38 activities of Film Market, inking 36 projects with a combined value of RMB13.845 billion, up 32% y-o-y, which further consolidated China’s No. 1 film market position in Asia. The 5th BJIFF obtained wide attention from both domestic and foreign media. 1,297 journalists from 279 domestic media and 202 journalists from 71 overseas media covered BJIFF.
To satisfy the demands of media interviews, the 6th BJIFF Press Center shall be operating from April 14th to 24th, 2016 (the detailed time shall be determined according to emails or short messages sent by the Organizing Committee of BJIFF; the registered media should keep email or short message available). By then, the Press Center shall offer such services as registration, certificate-production, interview reservation, media hour and press conference. All journalists are welcome to attend.
