The 13th BJIFF
Let’s Have a WeChat! 2nd-round Selection Results and Jury for Project Pitches Released!
The 2nd-round selection for Project Pitches under Beijing Film Market of the 13th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) was concluded on April 7 and 8, where project owners gathered in Beijing with their stories to have face-to-face communication with the Jury. Their works are more like the extensions from their personal temperament, attractive and appealing. In addition to the stories, the young filmmakers also expressed their need to desire to the BJIFF for pitching projects:
“This is my first time writing a script. I could really use advices from experts.”
“We want to find a senior executive producer through the Project Pitches to join us making warm and powerful films.”
“I want to add something new to this project… It would be deficient just by myself."

Such an opportunity and platform are rare for many filmmakers, and the BJIFF Project Pitches is a good one. We truly understand the young filmmakers. To provide useful and valuable benefits to project owners, we invited Yin Lu, Gu Xiaogang and Su Biao as the 2nd-round selection jury, who were readily to offer opportunities for the outstanding projects in need.
“Just add a contact on WeChat. I might be able to help you find marketing resources.”
“How about adding my contact on WeChat? I have some international producers that may be helpful.”
“We will find you if we have a proper script for you!”

After two days of review and interview, 20 projects were shortlisted for project negotiation, among which the top 10 entered the final-round project pitching for final evaluation. Six projects of the WIPs were selected for the final-round project pitching and negotiation and final evaluation. In addition, three sports-related projects from Beijing International Sports Film Week and four projects from Hong Kong, China will also enter the final-round project pitching and final evaluation. The project negotiation will take place on April 26 when the 33 projects shortlisted for negotiation will meet the senior industry guests/buyers.
