In recent years, Wuershan has thoroughly engaged himself into the Creation of Fengshen Trilogy which was featured mainly by new performers. The film is adapted from the well-known mythological novel The Legend of The Gods. The film has been in preparation for shooting since 2014 and is now in post-production. It is a bold attempt and development for Chinese film industry.

Director Wuershan
In less than a decade, Wuershan has come to the forefront of China's film industry. He once said in an interview: "Film industrialization can be divided into three aspects. The first is typed creation. Each type has certain creation standards, whether from script or production; the second is scientific and systematic production management to ensure large-scale production; the third is the application of new technology. The combination of science and art is also an important standard for film industrialization." From his second film The Butcher, the Chef, and the Swordsman, he started to blaze a trail of film industrialization within the framework of typed films.

The Butcher, the Chef, and the Swordsman by Wuershan is unique in style
After graduating from Beijing Film Academy, Wuershan served as an advertising director and soon gained fame in the industry. He made achievements that were praised by his peers and laid the foundation for making films in the future. In The Butcher, the Chef, and the Swordsman, he subverts the tradition of martial arts films and recounts the absurd martial arts world with exaggerated performance and fine arts; three stories were told in three tinges of color. As an alternative comedy, it has its own style.
Wuershan immediately enjoyed great trust in the industry and suddenly rose from a "small" director who budgeted a million yuan to a "big" director who was responsible for investment that reached hundreds of million yuan. In 2012, the fantasy love film Painted Skin Ⅱ directed by him set 12 box office records in Chinese films. Before shooting, Wuershan wrote a five-page long article for the film script to explain his ideas and shooting philosophies.

As his creation experience accumulates, Wuershan slowed down his shooting process as opposed to making it faster. It took him nearly four years to complete the fantasy adventure film The Ghouls. The investment into the film exceeds 250 million yuan and hit 1.68 billion yuan in box office when it was released in 2015. Wuershan successfully combined oriental fantasy elements with film special effects to create an amazing underground space. This was unique in Chinese films back then.

Mythical epic film Fengshen Trilogy which costs Wuershan seven years is in post production
Since 2014, Wuershan has devoted his creative energy to a more pioneering adventure--adapting The Legend of The Gods and shooting three consecutive films, thus entering a new production mode for the first time in Chinese films. To complete such works, it must rely on the support of a healthy film industry, make rational use of funds, and optimize the cooperation between technology and creative departments. While learning international advanced film production and management technology, Wuershan calmly overcame the difficulties encountered in his creation. Time is an essential cost.
In Wuershan's view, a popular film usually balances three elements: entertainment effect, film aesthetics and human nature. His creation pursuit is what we usually call the balance between business and art. With him joining the International Award Committee of Tiantan Award, a perspective will be provided that can incorporate typed film thinking and artistic exploration, and a more colorful side of film as an audio-visual language will be showcased.
