With the purpose of "discovering the new filmmakers around the globe in China's view and encouraging originals on the new wave of films in the world", the Forward Future section showcases the varied cultural significance of cinematic art. In addition to providing a platform for enhanced cooperation and communication among young filmmakers from around the World, it offers a cross-disciplinary dialogue opportunity for film enthusiasts.

Since its establishment at the Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) in 2014, the Forward Future section has consistently focused on what young filmmakers think and are concerned about. It has also generated considerable interest among film scholars and researchers regarding the works of the new generation of directors.

The Forward Future section this year features a total of 11 post-screening events, facilitating dialogues and exchanges between nearly 40 film creators from diverse countries and regions, and a variety of scholars and researchers. Furthermore, special guests will make appearances, promising delightful surprises!
