When Films Back to Where They are Born
In the history of films in China, Beijing Film Academy is a name we must know about as it is connected to film education in China. The directors of generations, either as teachers or students, have built the bridge of inheritance to boost the growth and prosperity of the cinema.
A special session – Huairou Sub-venue of Beijing Film Academy was set up for the 14th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) as a new campus of Beijing Film Academy to carry on the mission of its honored brand and inject new vitality.
▌Here comes the Tiantan Award Jury
The annual Tiantan Award is the most important event for BJIFF, since the competition section is designed to highlight the sensitivity and concerns of a film festival to cutting-edge works from around the world. On April 19-24, the Tiantan Award Jury of the 14th BJIFF will review the films at the Huairou Sub-venue of Beijing Film Academy when the members, including Emir Kusturica, David White, Kris Phillips, Jessica Hausner, Carlos Saldanha, Ma Li, and Zhu Yilong, will decide the winners of each award.

▌A world from another dimension
On April 20, the shortlists for the Animated Short Films of the 14th BJIFF Game-Based Animated Films Section will be screened at the Theater Hall 3 of the Beijing Film Academy. More than sixty animations will be screened at the Beijing Film Academy to bring you a feast of animated films.
On April 21, at the E-Sports Celebration for Filmmakers under Game-Based Animated Films Exhibition, famous actors and actresses, including Lou Yixiao, Huang Junjie, Caelan Moriarty, and Wang Ruixin will embark on a journey to the world of another dimension.

▌More screenings!
From April 21 to April 27, 2024, 25 films will be screened at the Beijing Film Academy to present a feast of eyes with high-quality in diversified forms. In addition, the “Everlasting BJIFF” will continue the screenings from May 1 through May 4.
▌NEWHER, new power
On April 21, 2024, the NEWHER Women-Focused Film Section is to take place at the Black Box Theatre, Huairou Campus, Beijing Film Academy where directors Li Shaohong and Zhang Mo, screenwriter Rao Xueman, photographer Deng Lu, producer Xiong Ying, and Song Jia, Vice President of iQIYI and General Manager of iQIYI Film Center, will be present to share their experience in filmmaking. Their voices deserve to be heard by us.
On the same day, the Awards Ceremony for the NEWHER Women-Focused Film Section will also be held at the Black Box Theatre, Huairou Campus, Beijing Film Academy where outstanding short films will be unveiled. Let’s wait for the glories!

From April 22 to 23, the Art & Vision Certain Unit will be held at the Black Box Theatre, Huairou Campus, Beijing Film Academy.
At the first session themed “Collaboration for Perfection | New Era for Advertisement”, directors Story Chen and Hou Zuxin, actress Bonnie Chen, and creative director of Y. Yu An will have in-depth discussions.
At the second session themed “More than Creation｜Arts Between Finitude and Infinity”, director and painter Qiu Jiongjiong, actor Kang-sheng Lee, actor and film curator Xue Xuchun, director Yang Lina, artist Wang Gongxin, and director Fu Bo will have profound talks.
On April 24, the 4th China Film Capital Development Forum will take place at Beijing Film Academy where senior filmmakers will gather to share their new perspectives towards those themes.
