Following the joint establishment of the “Short Video Section” by the Beijing International Film Festival Organizing Committee and Communication University of China at the Beijing International Film Festival in 2022, this high-profile forum for communication and interaction has witnessed the emergence of a growing cohort of outstanding short film productions, distinguished by their emotional resonance, intellectual depth, thematic breadth, and illuminating perspectives. This initiative has provided short video creators, exemplifying “new quality productivity”, with unprecedented opportunities to engage with the international film festival mainstream, leveraging innovative technologies and novel viewpoints to articulate Chinese stories and capture the essence of contemporary life. This year's Short Video Section, themed “Discovering Beauty and Delivering Value”, showcased numerous creators who used their cameras to capture the spirit of the times and light and shadow to preserve the warmth of human experience. Notably, the innovative integration of AIGC technologies in many entries resulted in a collection of exceptional works that demonstrate artistic merit, social impact, and advanced production techniques, setting a new benchmark for short video creation within the industry.
