Challenging New Possibilities! Shortlist of 2024 BJIFF TALENTS Released
Cinema is a movement of silence, and a poem of light and shadow. Its development and growth require new forces from generation to generation to continue its brilliance. As a practical training program that discovers and supports outstanding film newcomers, BJIFF TALENTS, with the assistance and leadership of professional instructors and producers, will give creation and shooting guidance to the finalists. Officially launched in 2021, the program is designed to provide young filmmakers with a professional film learning platform and fast-growing channel.

Through careful selection, out of 205 applicants from home and abroad, 11 winners eventually stood out, and were shortlisted in BJIFF TALENTS. The finalists will participate in professional training given by instructors, and conduct practical discussions on projects with senior industrial advisors and instructors. Moreover, trainees will also have a chance to take part in Yingwutang, an action performance training camp which was founded by Chinese actor Wu Jing, for training, exchange, learning and practice. Instructors of BJIFF TALENTS this year will eventually select four young filmmakers to enter the phase of short film shooting according to the completion status of trainees' themed script creation during the training period.
